Spoken For…

My hope comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

The devil is a funny specimen. He loves to sneak right up next you, quietly, and then attempts to shake your foundation from its very core. The sad thing about us Christians- 9/10 times we let him do it, we practically open the door to him.

Today starts a new month. And this month I am challenging myself regarding this issue. This month, I will focus on the lies that the devil has coerced me to believe and counter them with the truth of Christ. After all, this is the season of His birth, a season of renewal and refreshment. A season of hope.

We all have little spaces in our lives that we have let satan sit peacefully in. We allow him to take our strength and our confidence with little fight. But Christ has been so clear about how strong we are, and how weak satan is. He has given us all of the tools we need to overcome this stronghold.

You are fearfully and wonderfully made, despite your shortcomings. You were created by the hands of an amazing and omnipotent Savior who loved you so much that He handed over His only son to take your pain and suffering. Satan would have you believe otherwise in a heartbeat, but Christ has paid the ultimate price for your security.

One of my favorite songs is Spoken For by Mercy Me.

Take this world from me
I don’t need it anymore
I am finally free
My heart is spoken for

Oh and I praise you
Oh and I worship you…

Covered by your love divine
Child of the risen Lord
To hear you say “This one’s mine”
My heart is spoken for

Now I have a peace
I’ve never known before
I find myself complete
My heart is spoken for

Oh and I praise you
Oh and I worship you…

Covered by your love divine
Child of the risen Lord
To hear you say “This one’s mine”
My heart is spoken for

By the power of the cross
You’ve taken what was lost
And made it fully yours
And I have been redeemed
By you that spoke to me
Now I am spoken for

Covered by your love divine
Child of the risen Lord
To hear you say “This one’s mine”
My heart is spoken for

Take this world from me
Don’t need it anymore…

Your heart is spoken for…isnt that awesome!

Good for you for focusing on that this month! I really like how you called the devil a “specimen.” It’s a good reminder that he is NOT an equally powerfull opposite of God (which a lot of people tend to believe), but he is a mitochondrial blemish and that’s it.

Love the song, love the focus…precious gift to give yourself.

The whispers of the enemy while subtle and powerful. Even stronger is the voice of our Shepherd and Savior…

I’m going to follow your lead on this one.
