*Updated* Asking for prayers again, for Emma Grace

Thank you for your prayers, you all cease to amaze me. It was a really long night, Emma didnt sleep too well. She is coughing quite a bit now, but thankfully her heart rate has decreased to the 120’s (again, high, but better!) We are going to see the pediatrician this morning and hopefully it will all just be an infection. Continue to pray that their is no fluid in her lungs- especially with the coughing. If this is an infection, hopefully it is bacterial so that medication can be prescribed. Due to Emma’s immune suppression, viral infections are extremely hard to treat. Still no fever, which can be good and bad I guess. I sound so negative… no fever for transplant kids is sometimes worse than fevers- fevers atleast can point to infection.

Hopefully we will come home and it will just be a cold/sinus infection :) Pray for that! Ill update when we get home this afternoon.

———————————————————————-

Emma’s heart rate is 135. Her normal is 100-105. Her breathing is also labored (belly breathing) She doesn’t have a fever or any other symptoms to explain the elevated heart rate or belly breathing (short of a stuffy nose - which she stayed home from school today for), but she has been lethargic today and clingy.

I have talked to both her pediatrician on call and the transplant team- the concern is her heart function, and the rise in her heart rate. We have all agreed that should she continue to be lethargic I will take her the hospital, but I am hoping we can wait it out at home and not expose her to everything at the ER (Transplant said there is quite abit of nasty stuff there right now) Transplant was more prone to her staying home as long as possible- which I am comfortable with at this time. (We have everything here that we need for the time being - oxygen, pulsox, nebulizer etc)

Here are the things we are asking for in prayer
1. That Emma’s heart rate would decrease and that she would stable out overnight.
2. That her resperatory rate would decrease and she would breathe easier
3. That this is not heart failure related
4. That if she is getting sick, we can find the source and treat it quickly

We’ve had a long run of good health, I really would like to see it stay that way- Im trying not to overreact, but it is really hard when you have a child that cant say “Mommy it hurts here”. All I or her doctors can go by are vitals and her behavior… today she hasnt been my spunky little girl.

God’s angel sets up a circle of protection around us while we pray.
Psalm 34:6-8

Thank you for praying

Heather, I’m glad I decided to stop by and visit today. I will be praying for Emma Grace. In fact, I’ll do it right now:

    Heavenly Father,

I thank You that You designed Emma. You know her frame, nothing is hidden from You. Not even the cause of this rise in heart rate. I pray that You would reveal the cause of this change so that Emma can be treated quickly. Father, I pray that it would not be related to heart failure. Father, help her heart rate and respiratory rate to return to normal levels. I pray that You would set Your angels around her to keep her in all her ways. Father, give Heather & her family, as well as Emma’s care providers wisdom and discernment in regard to her care at each turn. I thank You that You hold Emma in the palm of Your hand. I thank You that she is Your child, You know her name, You know each hair on her head, and You love her more than we could ever imagine. Nothing is too difficult for You God. I thank You that You are watching over Emma’s care and that You are the Great Physician. We praise You Lord and thank You for Your hand on Emma’s life. Lord, may Your plans unfold for her life and may You give wisdom in all things as this family faces these challenges.

In Jesus’ precious name I pray, Amen.

(Heather you don’t have to post this. I just thought I can’t pray with you in person but I could share this with you. When two or more are gathered in His name, He is there. Much love & prayers, Erna.)

Thasnk for the update Heather :) We will continue to pray, but “glad” that symptoms of something are showing so it may be treated. I’m sure you would prefer to hit something with a name head on rather than symptoms. We are standing with you. Shoulder to shoulder.

    I’m so sorry Heather. I’m praying too…

Father God, you know Emma inside and out for You created her with Your own mighty hands. Only You know Lord what ails this precious girl who is so loved by many — especially her parents.

Father we ask collectively that you would touch her fragile body and make her well. If you are willing it will be so. Lord, who are we to question why things happen the way they do? Who are we that you are mindful of us? Yet, Father, you made us to yearn for you. Lord you are the only one we can turn to when we don’t know what to do.

Father please give this family comfort and peace to endure this hardship. You know what it is to watch your child suffer. Especially bless Emma with strength and endurance to fight this illness while you carry her through it. You are a God of miracles. I pray for one now and that you would be glorified and exalted by the miraculous healing of this precious girl that no man can take credit for. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

    God bless you, Emma.
