My Portion…
March 1, 2007
Psalms 73:21-26
When my heart was grieved
and my spirit embittered,
I was senseless and ignorant;
I was a brute beast before you.
Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
Because God himself is your portion, you can let go of the world’s definition of success, the praise you feel you are due and the injustice you feel subjected to. You can be satisfied without the perfect husband, the respectable career, 2.4 children and whatever else is on your wish list because you have something else, something better.
God himself is your portion

I would love to hear from you!

Awesome! Great post this morning Heather
HOW AWESOME…my husband used that same scripture in my grandfather’s memorial service this past Saturday! Thanks for reminding me that He is my portion FOREVER!
You live in Sarasota, right? I lived only 2 hours north of there, but spent lots of time there, because my grandparents lived there. If you read the paper there, there is an article about my grandfather’s passing…his name is Lou Burdette. He played baseball professionally and was a Sarasota resident for a long while. I miss it there.
How eloquent….and yet, ferociously written! It is when we get to the end of ourself…that we begin to live in His portion! Amazing!
