Shut Up!

That has been the ongoing conversation had between myself, boomama, and kelli. $14,542.44

SHUT UP!

Im amazed, in awe and completely humbled. Short of stating Thank you over and over and over and over (and causing you to never return to my blog due to the ridiculous repetition) I will state again, You have blessed us beyond comprehension. My husband and have sat here most of the night just looking at each other and shaking our heads- usually with tears flowing in the process. Unbelievable. We will never be able to say thank you to each and everyone of you who have and continue to participate in this. Never.

Thank You.

So, tomorrow (Friday) I go for my second opinion. Mark asked me today if I was scared- and honestly I am. I am scared that the news is going to be the same, although in some ways I have prepared myself for that. Its weird how your body and mind just go into “coping mode”. It’s like I know what I have, so now lets move forward and do what we need to do.

But what do you do when you cant do anything? That is what scares me.

I am holding out for Mayo. I truly believe that if anyone can get this thing out of my head, they can. And if they cant, they will walk me through the process that will follow.

Physically, I am overwhelmed and exhausted. My appointment is at 4pm tomorrow (we will have to leave at 1:30) so I am hoping to just rest until we leave. Easton is staying the night at Laura’s with her best friend. Elijah will be at my parents, and Emma will be in school.

It will just be me, for the first time since the diagnosis.

I really hope to just sleep. Odds are that wont happen, but that is what I am hoping for.

So, please keep us lifted up tomorrow- how wonderful would it be to come back with absolutely amazing news! Either way- God is already touching lives left and right!

These are but the outer fringe of his works,
how faint the whisper we hear of him!
Who can understand the thunder of his power?”
-Job 26:14

I think the thunder of His power has resonated throughout the blogging community (and further), wouldn’t ya say?!

Ya know I love ya. I’ll start praying at 10:30 (my time).

(However, I do require a call *afterwards* with news. Any news. Even if it’s Saturday :) ) I’m pushy that way.

  12. Jenn says:

Heather, you are in my continued prayers – and why this does not have anything to do with cancer it’s something that reminded me to believe -

Just 2 months ago, my x and I went to court to “fight” for custody of our only daughter together. Aubrey’s father had moved 2 hours away from where we live here, and Aubrey was being transported that far 3 days a week for school.

We both felt she could not continue doing it, but did not agree who should “keep” her during the week.

The weeks up to the court date, were so scary – HOURS AND HOURS spent at the lawyers office preparing, talking, working on paperwork – HOURS AND HOURS Of tears and fears.

However, that morning, before we left – I gathered my family around me, and TOLD them – that I had a vision, one that I would not “put down” or vier away from NO matter what happened inside the court house!

In that vision, I was hugging my lawyer and thanking him for doing ALL he could, we had “won” custody!

Well, during the day things were not going in “our direction” from what my lawyer told me, he said when we broke before the judge told us the verdict that we had lost…but I did not falter – I held my vision – and in the end I did “win” – I got custody of Aubrey…We both did, Aubrey sees her father, step mom and there other children weekly (just on weekends).

I truly believe in the power of positive thinking, there were so many doubts, and scary moments – but in the end it worked out for me!

Stay focused, and know that your loved, and being lifted in prayer every day!

Praying for you, your kids and hubby.
For some reason the song Amazing Grace kept going through my mind tonight as I read your post.
God’s grace is truly amazing in our lives.
May God continue to guide you and hubby as you walk this difficult road together.

  14. Heather, we are the ones that receive the blessing because of your incredible faith. You have touched many people and the gift was just an outpouring of those you’ve touched.

I am praying for you to get some rest and that the Lord will comfort your heart and mind.

You are not ever alone…don’t ever forget that. His eye is on the sparrow…so how much more does He WATCH OVER you!

    Love and prayers!

I am trying to understand between the “we” are leaving and the “It will be just me” Iam assumng your are talking about sleeping tonight, alone. (even though your shadows remind you , you are not alone :)

You may consider takimg a tape recorder. It will help you digest what is said to you. You can disect it when you are alone with Mark.

Praying the Comforter blankets you with Love tonight as you sleep in perfect peace.

    Psalm 4:6-8
6 Many people ask, “Who will give us anything good?” Lord, be kind to us. 7 But you have made me very happy, happier than they are, even with all their grain and new wine. 8 I go to bed and sleep in peace, because, Lord, only you keep me safe.

    Sleep sweetly.
    Because of Jesus, Bobbie

  28. Dee Dee says:

    It just hit me.
I know I didn’t give even a hundred dollars, (though I’d have loved to if I felt I could have), and looking at the figures that have been reached, it seems to me that there is a great group of lurkers, in addition to those who comment here. Maybe they’re shy, or maybe they just don’t feel a need to talk, yet they give what they have, prayers, money, whatever.
Feel surrounded. By your family, by your church, by the avid talkers, by the loving lurkers, by the great cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12 : 1 – 3), by the unseen armies of God (– how many times did God step in for His Israel, to silence their enemies, that HIS Name would be honored?) and especially (and this alone is sufficient) by the mighty arms of God.

You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
    Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it. Psalm 139:5-6

    Praying!

Oh my, I feel for you.

We’ve been through similar, though different circumstances, with our son (then 16) two years ago.

His life expectancy was somewhat similar to what you’ve described. Luckily with hours of learning that, I made the decision to ignore.

Just wondering…since you’re from the Orlando area and we’re not that far away…have you been to Tampa for a second opinion? There is a neurosurgeon here who is the best.

    Praying for sleep, and peace.

    Dear Heather,

What an amazing blessing! Hopefully the $ raised will take off at least some of the burden of what you’re going through. I will be thinking and praying for you today while you’re at your 2nd opinion. I told my Dad about you and your family and he’s praying for you and I know he’ll ask his church to pray also. God is so good and every feeling, tear and prayer is known by Him. Jesus knows what you’re going through…imagine the weight of the world’s sin on Him as He hung there to die so that we might live eternally! His pain and suffering must have unimaginable. But He did it for you because He loves you and redeemed you! Best wishes to you always!!

    Molly (:
