Some good news - YAY!

My EEG came back normal :)

This means that, even with a tumor in my brain, my brain waves are normal- not normal for someone with a tumor, but normal despite the tumor!

Tonight we are having my sons birthday party (his 7th birthday is on Thursday) at my parents house (we’ve been spending alot of time there a of late… which is important right now for all of us).

happybirthdayeli.jpg

In case I do not update before we leave on Wednesday morning, I wanted to let you know that I will be taking my laptop, and either I or Mark will be updating while we are gone. I am going to spend tomorrow with my mom, getting ready for the trip, and then tomorrow night we are going to do something as a family before we leave.

Please continue to keep my family in your prayers, I know you will…..

    Dear Heather,

Oh honey that is great news!! Praise God, right? Wow. Of course I’ll be praying for you. Have a great b-day party with your son (my oldest daughter is also 7) and enjoy the rest of your time with them before you leave for Mayo. Whenever we’re stressed out or want to relax as a family, we always go miniature golfing! I don’t know why but it seems to put everyone in a great mood and we laugh and laugh! Sadly my mini-golf score is so bad I won’t embarass myself by telling you! Best wishes and I’m praying fervently for you all!

I have a promise for you, because I know it’s true.
Even if you die tomorrow. It’s going to be OK. If you do, your kids are going to cry, and everyone else, but they will get over it, and God will use it in their lives. YOU CAN TRUST HIM, YOU CAN TRUST HIM, YOU CAN TRUST HIM. This isn’t about you, it’s about us finding out that God is in control of car wrecks, and stomach cancer, and all honeybees. He’s not just along for the ride, he already wrote the end of the story. You are praying to the God who already knows how this all is going to work out, and it’s for your (and everyone else’s) good, and His glory.
It’s not about tumors, or mommies, or autism, or widowers, or 14 thousand dollars. It’s all about TRUST. The answer to every question you ask is, Will you trust me Heather?
I had to, I did, He is trustworthy. Even if you die, even if your kids hurt, and your husband and parents too, even if you live to be 102. You don’t have to figure everything out and worry, it’s all going to be OK. You will glorify Him. You can trust him to take care of the doctors, the kids, the money, the business, the baby and the dog.
That’s the knot in the pit of your stomach, fear. Don’t be afraid, TRUST.
Say it- “When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.” PSALM 56:3 Say it ALL THE TIME. shhhh
It’s going to be OK, I promise.

    Heather,
Our Retreat verse was Be still and know that I am God, Which I shared with you earlier. You do that so well. Our next section of verses was Psalm 145 This is from the message.

1 I lift you high in praise, my God, O my King! and I’ll bless your name into eternity. 2 I’ll bless you every day, and keep it up from now to eternity. 3 God is magnificent; he can never be praised enough. There are no boundaries to his greatness. 4 Generation after generation stands in awe of your work; each one tells stories of your mighty acts. 5 Your beauty and splendor have everyone talking; I compose songs on your wonders. 6 Your marvelous doings are headline news; I could write a book full of the details of your greatness. 7 The fame of your goodness spreads across the country; your righteousness is on everyone’s lips. 8 God is all mercy and grace - not quick to anger, is rich in love. 9 God is good to one and all; everything he does is suffused with grace.

10 Creation and creatures applaud you, God; 11 your holy people bless you. They talk about the glories of your rule, they exclaim over your splendor, 12 Letting the world know of your power for good, the lavish splendor of your kingdom. 13 Your kingdom is a kingdom eternal; you never get voted out of office. God always does what he says, and is gracious in everything he does. 14 God gives a hand to those down on their luck, gives a fresh start to those ready to quit. 15 All eyes are on you, expectant; you give them their meals on time. 16 Generous to a fault, you lavish your favor on all creatures. 17 Everything God does is right - the trademark on all his works is love. 18 God’s there, listening for all who pray, for all who pray and mean it. 19 He does what’s best for those who fear him - hears them call out, and saves them. 20 God sticks by all who love him, but it’s all over for those who don’t. 21 My mouth is filled with God’s praise. Let everything living bless him, bless his holy name from now to eternity!

My prayer and my hope is that for generations to come, yours is a story filled with promise. The Fame of your goodness is spreading about the Country because YOU are spreading the Fame of the Lord Jesus’ Goodness. All eyes are on God, expectant, prayerfully waiting for each piece of Good News.

May this blog remind you again and again that TODAY you proclaimed that YOU are a child of the MOST HIGH GOD. >YOUYOU

Awesome! And Happy Birthday to your son! It’s great y’all get to celebrate before you leave and after hearing such great news! This morning, my devotional once again spoke to me about you. Please excuse the length, but it’s all so good (while today is good, you may need a reminder of this later):

    WHEN NO ONE UNDERSTANDS

    By Gail Rodgers

“No one understands.” We’ve all have that feeling from time to time when we’ve
struggled with feeling alone in a decision. Many will offer advice or share
opinions yet no one understands the depth of the issue. When that happens a
feeling of isolation can creep into your soul. You can begin to wonder if God
    even understands.

When doubts begin to crowd your thinking, call out to God and ask Him to show
you that He is near. Reach for your Bible and read the words of Psalm 139. They
are God’s word to your heart:

“O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.
You hem me in - behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you
    are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me; your right hand will hold me fast…
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.”

God does care. He understands you as no one ever could. He is familiar with your
whole situation and He has promised to hold you close! He knows you! You can
trust Him to guide you through whatever you face today. He does understand.

    ~ Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this knowledge that You care so deeply and know me so intimately.
I will trust in Your knowledge of me and in Your hand to guide me. Give me Your
wisdom today. Hold on to me in my spinning world. Thank You for understanding
me. You know me better than I know myself. Thank You for this comfort. I choose
to trust You in my circumstances today! In Jesus’ name, amen.

I found your blog and feel now like I know you. Our neighbor had brain surgery 6 wks ago after waiting 3 years. The Dr said there was one part they wouldn’t be able to get as it was too attached. After surgery he said they got it all. That part just fell loose. When told of all the prayers going on the Dr. said “I could feel it in there.” Our neighbor flew back home 9 days after surgery and is doing great. Prayer Works!! We serve an awesome God.
