Through the Shadow of the doubt…

April 24, 2007

“My child, attend to my words; incline your ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are LIFE unto those that find them, and HEALTH to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:20-23)

No matter what the doctors tell me, I will seek you. I will hide your words within my heart, especially while I am sitting in front of them. I will lean on you when I feel weak. I will turn to you when I feel lost. I will cling to you when I feel hopeless.

You are my strong tower.Your face is all I seek.

Off we go to beat this thing….

Happy birthday to your son. I’m glad you were able to celebrate before you left. Be sure to tell the pilot to fly safe! He’s transporting an important person, the daughter of the King and our friend!!!! We’ll keep praying.

Hi Heather! I came to your site from another of the Christian women’s blogs that I read daily. My family and I have been and will be praying for you! I have been so excited and encouraged by the GOOD things going on with you! Isn’t it great to see how God is at work, even through the yucky parts of life?! I hope you get a chance to enjoy your trip a little bit too. Take care, and we will keep on prayin’!

Everytime I visit here, the Benediction prayer just comes to mind each time:

May The Lord bless you and keep you.

May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you.

May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.

Just another stranger stopping by to let you know they are praying for you.

Dear Heather,
My life has been touched and changed significantly by a brain tumor. My youngest sister had an astrocytoma since she was 9. The faith you are demonstrating reminds me so much of hers as she fought her tumor. She clung on to Jesus throughout the times of remission and times of treatment. Although she was never healed on earth, she is complete at the side of her Savior now. I don’t think many people understand the numbness you feel when you hear the news that you have a tumor, how your whole life passes before your eyes and you realize that as of that moment – nothing will ever be the same. I will pray, pray and keep praying for you and your family. We’ve never met but my heart goes out to you and your family so much.

Praying in AZ,
Silvana

25 Dana April 24, 2007 at 9:48 pm

I love what DAvid said….”Faith is not believing God can. Faith is believing God WILL.” How true. God IS your strong tower and he will be with you, as will the thousands of others out here in blogger land and the real world, lifting you up in prayer.

Praying for God to give you strength to face the days ahead and praying for complete healing for you.

Dana (sunshine)

You are such an inspirational writer to me, who struggles with my committment. I am always lifted by your words. You are a very special person and I wish you the very best. God Bless you and your family!

Tonight a prayer for you from the words of one of my favorite songs and blessings..

The Lord bless you and keep you
The Lord make His face to shine upon you
And be gracious

The Lord lift up the light
Of His countenance upon you
And give you peace
And give you peace

41 bubbebobbie April 25, 2007 at 12:54 am

Heather,
There are so many people praying for you. The Lord has to be smiling from ear to ear boasting on you. There is quite a journey ahead of all of you and many are watching. May God be glorified.

I am certain this TV specail will probaly not be scripturally sound, but it is so timely I can’t help but think perhaps there is a bit of information in it for you and Mark.
The discovery channel is hosting a special on May 6th called Living with Cancer. It is on at 8:00. Inspiration and direction perhaps.

May you have Peace like a River in your soul!
Because of Jesus, Bobbie

42 Christina April 25, 2007 at 12:56 am

As you travel through fields of doubt and uncertainty this week I will be praying for a clear path for you filled with hope, and the knowledge that your doctors at Mayo will be guided by the hands of the true healer, Jesus Christ.

I know from experience at Mayo Clinic(19 trips in the last 3 years) that your doctors at Mayo will help put your mind at rest and help you navigate this journey. They are very compassionate and experienced. I know you are in good hands both going to Mayo and in the hands of God who will see you through this.

My prayers have not ceased since I first heard about you and they will continue as long as you need them.

As the hymn says,”Be Not Afraid, I go before you always, come follow me and I will give you rest.”

Surrounding you in prayers, Christina

43 Miriam Pauline April 25, 2007 at 2:28 am

Believing for miracles for you. Travel safely. You are in our prayers.

44 Keri April 25, 2007 at 3:18 am

Heather,
Wish I’d gotten here sooner! Here it is only a couple of hours prior to you bording the plane, so I’m sure you won’t find my message until after you land in Minnesota! I could have met you at the airport and given ya’ll a ride in.

My husband had his crainiotomy at Mayo in 2001 and is doing really well today.

Always remember that it is your health. You are in charge. Ask all of the questions you have. Do not ever let anyone make you feel you are wrong to question the actions they think you should take and if you feel something isn’t right, stop it and get another opinion. We often think that because they have the medical degree, we should automatically do everything they tell us. Listen to your heart.

Hugs. You’ll be in my prayers.
