…and another one done.
April 26, 2007
This will be a short update. Heather will post more details either tonight or tomorrow.
Surgery has been scheduled for next Thursday. They will be removing the tumor. Her parents will be driving up to Minnesota with Emma and her mother-in-law will be flying to help with Easton and Elijah.
Thank you so much for your prayers. Please continue them… and thank you so much for your donations. Without them, this time would be so tough. Because of them Heather and Mark are able to concentrate on other things. Thank you.
-Laura

I would love to hear from you!

Thank you Laura. I have to admit, I’ve been sitting here, hitting refresh, biting my nails.

Thank you for the update - you are invaluable to Heather and Mark!!!
And to the world of bloggers!!!
thank you
Laura,
Will this be the biopsy surgery, or tumor removal surgery?
I like to be explicit in my prayers. =)
Heather we love you and are praying for you.
Thanks for letting us know. Sending love and prayers from England.
The prayers won’t stop… (((HUGS)))
Wow - can’t wait to hear more.
Praying!
Thank you for keeping us updated. Prayers are tailored accordingly. Will check back for more details…but praying continues.
I’ll be passing the request to my circle of prayer warriors also.
thanks for the update.

I’ve been following Heather’s trials. I followed a link from another blogger. I check in daily to get updates, and I have been praying for the family. I prayed today for the Dr.’s appointments at Mayo to go WELL.
I’ll continue to pray, and God bless Heather with peace, joy, hope, and HEALING.
Hugs,
Kelly in Michigan ( I don’t know Heather….but WHO CARES..I’m still praying.) :)
Thanks, Laura, for letting us know. It’s all I can do not to pick up the phone and call her…but I know she and Mark probably need some quiet time to process all of this. And Heather, if you read this: YAY. :-) I know how badly you want that thing OUT OF YOUR HEAD.
Thank you so much, Laura, for keeping all of us informed. You know that we’re all following this practically minute by minute.
I’m not surprised that Heather and Mark have chosen to have the tumor removed. In spite of the risks, I think knowing this was in her head would have just made Heather crazy. It would make anyone crazy.
I also feel that they have enough information now that they’ve made an informed decision. Thank God for that.
So now the praying for something very specific can begin. I’m praying that the tumor is completely removed with absolutely no permanent damage to Heather and her beautiful mind at all.
I wasn’t surprised to read this, but I was surprised the decision was made and the surgery is happening so quickly! Yay! I, too, would want this thing out. So I’m guessing there is a less than 15% risk of problems from the surgery then? I think those odds are pretty darn good! Praying, praying, praying.
I am adding this to our prayer chain here! I will be in prayer too on the day of surgery!
That is my birthday. I am praying it will be a rebirth day for your health. Lord God, Your hands, Your eyes, Your wisdom, Your love, Your child we commit all to you.
Laura, My heart is with you and your sweet daughter. I have a 31 year old Heather. Thank you for keeping us updated and I am so glad you will be with your baby girl. We are praying for all of you.
Because of Jesus,Bobbie
I am glad they are removing the tumor and will pray for your complete recovery.
We’ve got you covered here in Arkansas!! I will contact as many prayer chains between now and then.
I have seen many amazing outcomes with very complicated cases involving brain tumors. When it affects your family - God has an amazing way of comfort through the experiences of others. You will provide that comfort for others also (actually, you already are!) God is so much bigger than that nasty tumor!
With much love,
Shannon
It must feel good to be preparing to “DO” something to rid your body of this tumor.
Praying that God continues to grant you peace.

Im praying for you Heather, Im lifting you and your family up in my prayers.
Wow! Praying for Heather’s complete healing and her family during this time. Will Dr. Atkinson be the doctor leading the surgical that removes the tumor? I’d like to pray for him also. Thanks for keeping us up to date!
More prayers coming from Texas!
Thank you for the updates. They are appreciated.
Hey maybe you could post hours from Tuesday - Friday of next week and people could sign up for an hour to pray…they did this on Beth Moore’s site and I think it is an awesome way to cover Heather, her family and the doctors and nurses that will be taking care of her. Just an idea. Sunshine
Thank you so much for the updates today
Prayers are still going up everywhere Heather. God is more than able!
Prayers for a successful surgery.
It sure will feel nice to be one step closer!
Praying for you and your family, the doctors and all the staff that will be involved in your surgery and care during recovery! We are expecting a miracle!
Praying for her surgery and wisdom and guidance for the team!
Thanks for updating us, Laura. Heather, Mark - please know how totally covered in prayer you are. I’m relieved to hear that they will be removing the tumor; I’m sure it would have made you nuts if they left it in there. We’ll just have to pray that God will guide the hands of the surgeons and no “damage” will be done. Remember, He is a God of detail. Much love and hugs to you.
Sending more prayers……..from Alabama!
Wow! Heather, I am praying for you and will be Thursday as well. Praise God that things are moving so quickly for you! Thanks for updating us all. Keep that chin up, there are so many people praying for you and your family!

My first thought was “Wooo Hooo!!!!”
Heather, it has seemed your heart all along was for surgery (just get that thing out!) and so I’m encouraged to read this! Will continue to pray from here for you!!!
Laura
Thank you for the update and know that I pray for you. What a dear friend you are to Heather and Mark. I think of you often and know how close two friends can become - more like sisters than friends- and I keep you in my thoughts.
