…and another one done.

This will be a short update. Heather will post more details either tonight or tomorrow.

Surgery has been scheduled for next Thursday. They will be removing the tumor. Her parents will be driving up to Minnesota with Emma and her mother-in-law will be flying to help with Easton and Elijah.

Thank you so much for your prayers. Please continue them… and thank you so much for your donations. Without them, this time would be so tough. Because of them Heather and Mark are able to concentrate on other things. Thank you.

-Laura

    Laura,

Will this be the biopsy surgery, or tumor removal surgery?

I like to be explicit in my prayers. =)

I’ve been following Heather’s trials. I followed a link from another blogger. I check in daily to get updates, and I have been praying for the family. I prayed today for the Dr.’s appointments at Mayo to go WELL.

I’ll continue to pray, and God bless Heather with peace, joy, hope, and HEALING.

    Hugs,

Thanks, Laura, for letting us know. It’s all I can do not to pick up the phone and call her…but I know she and Mark probably need some quiet time to process all of this. And Heather, if you read this: YAY. :-) I know how badly you want that thing OUT OF YOUR HEAD.

Thank you so much, Laura, for keeping all of us informed. You know that we’re all following this practically minute by minute.

I’m not surprised that Heather and Mark have chosen to have the tumor removed. In spite of the risks, I think knowing this was in her head would have just made Heather crazy. It would make anyone crazy.

I also feel that they have enough information now that they’ve made an informed decision. Thank God for that.

So now the praying for something very specific can begin. I’m praying that the tumor is completely removed with absolutely no permanent damage to Heather and her beautiful mind at all.

I wasn’t surprised to read this, but I was surprised the decision was made and the surgery is happening so quickly! Yay! I, too, would want this thing out. So I’m guessing there is a less than 15% risk of problems from the surgery then? I think those odds are pretty darn good! Praying, praying, praying.

We’ve got you covered here in Arkansas!! I will contact as many prayer chains between now and then.

I have seen many amazing outcomes with very complicated cases involving brain tumors. When it affects your family - God has an amazing way of comfort through the experiences of others. You will provide that comfort for others also (actually, you already are!) God is so much bigger than that nasty tumor!

    With much love,
    Shannon

Thanks for updating us, Laura. Heather, Mark - please know how totally covered in prayer you are. I’m relieved to hear that they will be removing the tumor; I’m sure it would have made you nuts if they left it in there. We’ll just have to pray that God will guide the hands of the surgeons and no “damage” will be done. Remember, He is a God of detail. Much love and hugs to you.
