May God bless each of you for your prayers, words of encouragement, and yes good words from the Lord.
Heather tried to move onto the ICU bed all by herself, but the nurses were there to stop her, and do that for her. Thats a good sign don’t ya think? All she could do was nod her head and stare at us when we asked her questions. It will take her some time to come off the meds. It might take a few days for her to say anything so lets keep praying for a strong recovery.
When they rolled her off today it was like it hit all of us…OH MY HERE WE GO. And then we just had to go back to living moment by moment. Thats about all I have to say right now, 4:45am is catching up with me.
I leave you with this. As I sat and talked with my father-in-law today this passage in James I kept coming to me.
2-4Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.
5-8If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.
9-11When down-and-outers get a break, cheer! And when the arrogant rich are brought down to size, cheer! Prosperity is as short-lived as a wildflower, so don’t ever count on it. You know that as soon as the sun rises, pouring down its scorching heat, the flower withers. Its petals wilt and, before you know it, that beautiful face is a barren stem. Well, that’s a picture of the “prosperous life.” At the very moment everyone is looking on in admiration, it fades away to nothing.
12Anyone who meets a testing challenge head-on and manages to stick it out is mighty fortunate. For such persons loyally in love with God, the reward is life and more life. the message bible

Thank you Mark. I love her… you tell her that. And get some rest.
That’s awesome. And thank you for the scripture. You’re ministering to many, many more than you will ever realize!
We’re keeping her covered in prayer! ((hugs))
Ok, I’ve been hitting refresh here off and on for a few hours, praying each time I came. Thank-you for this awesome last update. How appropriate that verse is for you all.
Get some sleep and back to the fight tomorrow.

Wow. What a fighter she is. Give her a big hug from all of us and one for yourself too.
Still praying, still sending warm hugs and sweet thoughts.
So proud of her, so thankful for you being there with her, so in awe of God.
Love, Michelle
What a great passage from the Bible! Your family’s testimony through this trial have been wonderful for the kingdom. Thank you for standing strong in what must feel like a nightmare.
Our family continues to pray for yours
What a wonderful update! My prayers will continue to be with all of you.
God is so GOOD! What else is there to say?
Your entire family bears a beautiful testimony. And if we can’t “know” you in person, I am so thankful to be a visitor to your blog. In your sorest trials, you have blessed me. Thank you for the updates. With all you have going on as the nearest to Heather, it is so great to hear from you as the husband. That seems like a very hopeful sign. I’m sure you are all exhausted and I am praying for lots of good rest tonight for ALL OF YOU, but “especially Heather,” of course. I will continue to pray as she remains there at Mayo that her recovery will progress smoothly. Again, thank you for allowing me to be privy to your testimony. It is a strong one for God.
I am so glad everything is going well, I have kept Heather and all her family in my prayers, and yes, today I kept refreshing the page several times to see if there was an update, somehow I felt everything was going fine.

Ps. 95: 1-3 (NLT) Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him. For the Lord is a great God, a great King above all gods.
Praising God for this “day one” report and continuing in prayer. Praying specifically tonight for well rested nurses with gentle hands and quiet spirits. Praying for rest and any needed pain control for Heather. Praying for rest for the family. Praying for peace and comfort for all (including the children!). Oh, thank you for the update, I believe that has to be good news. Will continue praying for Heather, and you, and her wonderful family. God Bless You all!
Just had to check in before I went to bed.
Things sound very good if she’s trying to do things for herself. What a wonderful testimony to the grace of answered prayers!
So happy to hear that she came through this surgery and can now get on with recuperating and back to her loved ones!
Sending prayers for all of you!
Even at this late hour, Heather is still in my thoughts and prayers.
Thanks for the update! Press on, my friend! Lots of prayers being lifted up on ya’lls behalf!
I have been a lurker on your blog for a while now, and have been praying for you all… so I thought it was high time I introduce myself and let you know that I have been praying for Heather and family all day. I will certainly continue to pray and lift her and you all up to the Lord, thank you for the timely news and I pray that all of you, Heather especially, will rest and recover in the Lord throughout the night and the days to come.
I remember singing this in high school and the Lord just brought it to mind for you:
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and give you peace…
and until we meet again, may God hold you in teh palm of His hand.
Indeed, AMEN!
In Christ’s Love,
Jen
