Post-Op Day 1 Update

May 4, 2007

I have to apologize for not getting an update up earlier. I am very sorry, but thank you for being patient with me.

I just spoke to Mark, he was sitting down eating some dinner while Heather slept and she requested that he stay with her tonight so he will be going back to the hospital afterwards. Yes, she requested.

She has full mobility. She’s been walking around and changed from those hospital gowns to her nice, soft jammies today. She wants her hair washed. :)

She’s not really talking. It’s all there in her mind, she’s just having some trouble getting it from there to her mouth. She is able to shake her head yes and no and she understands you most of the time. She’s smiling and happy… she knows when people are there. I can only imagine how frustrated she is.

She’s not really in any pain, but she was a little dizzy earlier. Mark said he thinks it’s partially due to the fact that she wasn’t drinking enough. They are getting on top of that though.

Specifics for prayer:

  • That she get some good rest.
  • That her speech comes back quickly
  • That she stays relatively pain free

Thank you sooo much for caring so deeply for Heather and her family. Thank you for those prayers and please keep them coming.

From Mark:
hey folks…pray that satan would be bound from Heather’s thought life, that she would not be discouraged or worried about the days to come, and that the Lord would comfort her and give her peace.

I am so glad to hear that Heather is doing well, and please remember, even if you can’t hear her voice, God can, and He is always listening! I know she is praising Him in a song that only He can hear, and THAT is fabulous!!

Still praying!

Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the Lord his God. Psalm 146 v5

Delighted to hear how well Heather is doing – I’ve never heard of anyone being up & about so soon after the removal of a brain tumour. I was given Heather’s site address by our Pastor’s wife & we’ve all been following her progress. Praying in N. Ireland.

I just came across you website — I don’t know you but I will be following your “story”. God bless you Heather as you recover from surgery — I pray for a complete, full recovery. May the rest of the family find peace in Jesus as you wait and support.

This is such good news!

As a fellow singer/worshipper and talker, I KNOW how scary it is to lose your ability to speak/sing. I’ll be praying all over that and against the spirit of discouragement.

I read this entry and almost instantly I felt led to write and encourage you. This reminds me of the story of Zacharias in Luke. God silenced him for a different reason I know, but I thought how God can use this time of speechlessness(don’t even know if that’s a word – LOL) in Heather’s life too.

God will graciously give her her voice back in His timing and for His glory.

I will continue to lift her and your family up in prayer and specifically for what you asked about keeping Satan away from her thought process.

44 Kelly Kerley May 5, 2007 at 12:40 pm
