Count Your Blessings…

Thursday Morning

“Count your blessings, once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play and you will finally be able to move forward with the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage, and confidence.” -OG Mandino

My Mom and I are going to spend the day together, which is good because I am feeling so much better today than I have any other day this week. Thank you all for the swift kick in the pants yesterday, I really needed it… Your words really ministered to me and I promise you that I will give my self a bit more Grace when I am feeling down…

Now I am off to enjoy my day…

Count your blessings :)

Enjoy your day!!! Sounds like great fun! (Great picture, by the way ;) ).
It’s funny you use this phrase as your subject today: all day yesterday, some certain situation wasn’t looking all too keen, and I kept saying to myself, “Count your blessings.” You have confirmed that for me today! See what a blessing you are?! :)
    Have a great day!

Your radiant smile brought this verse to my mind:
    Isaiah 61:3

    Heather,
    You look wonderful!

I’m so glad that today is a great day, and you have fun plans with your mom.

Just remember…if you have another down day, that you need to accept it as your body telling you to simply slow down. That’s all. You’re healing and you’re going through two grueling therapies at once.

Glad to see your smiling face today!

  37. Stacy says:

Heather, I may have told you this before, but I am a former board-certifed music therapist (I know stay at home with my kiddos). I did my internship at a hospital where I worked exclusively with adult oncology patients, dealing with many of the issues that you are right now. You already immerse yourself in a great deal of music (I can tell that you LOVE worship music), but I just wanted to suggest to you that you find a deeply relaxing instrumental CD to help you with your nausea and fatigue. Find a quiet and comfy spot on the couch when you feel the most nauseous, plug in that CD, and then take some deep breaths. Picture all of that nausea and fatigue draining out of you. Literally allow yourself to visualize a wonderful and relaxing place (I almost always picture the beach)Then allow yourself to see Christ, holding you, holding your hand, etc. Meditate on some of your favorite Bible verses too. Sorry..it’s a little awkward for me me to write about it – I always led my patients through the exercises in person. I have a wonderful Christian CD that has a voice that takes your through a visualization of you being in a cabin in the woods with rain all around and Christ being present to comfort you – please let me know if you would like a copy of it. I would love to send it to you!
I also worked with my patients to write lyrics which I set to music for them – it was a wonderful way for them to express themselves. I would be honored to do the same for you, if you’d ever like to do something like that.
Blessings on you and your determination to cling to Christ through this!
    Keep shining!
    Stacy (in Phx)
P.S. Us Sisterchicks keep you in our prayers!
