Daddys Day…

They say when a girl looks for a husband, she looks for the traits of her father, and in my case that was very true. I married a man in the ministry, with a passion for the Lord, but also I married a man who would love and protect me the way my father did, and still does.

My dad has always been my biggest fan. He is a loving papa to my kids, and accepts my husband as his son. The past month, I have seen him step in where no Papa should be expected to step.. I have seen him swing Emma CONSTANTLY (he even went so far as to put a swing in his back yard while we were at Mayo!) and love on my older kids like they were his own. He takes Emma to summer school every day, and picks her up… and then takes me to my radiation appointments, never once complaining about his plans for the day. He holds me when I am having a rough day, and laughs with me when I am feeling good! He was such a good roll model for me when I picked out my husband Mark…

Mark loves the Lord with a passion that I can only hope to achieve this lifetime. He loves his children with a fierce and protective love, matching only that of my father. Yesterday, it rained here… Him and Emma disappeared, they went outside to play in the rain! She came back in with wet hair and a huge smile on her face! I watch him pray with his kids every night, he is such a good dad… even in the midst of all the heartbreak of the last month… He gives grace when they (and I) need it. He holds me when I cry and laughs with me when I am feeling good… All in all I married a man with the heart of my dad…

Happy Daddy’s day to both of you… I love you both with all of my heart, and I am so blessed to have you in my life..

Easton isn’t going to be baptized today after all, it was rescheduled for next Sunday :)

Happy Father’s Day to Mark and your dad. Because of the intense pain and a combination of drugs I am unable to drive. I apologized to my husband this morning because I was not able to go to a card/gift shop to buy a card and a gift. He looked me straight in the eye and said “Are you kidding? You are the best gift I have today. You are here with me.” God bless all of our husbands and dads.

What a loving tribute to your husband and father! All daughters need good daddies to show them what type of men will later be good husbands. It sounds like your children–most especially your daughters–are very, very lucky.

    I am Heathers Dad!
I have purposed to not comment much on Bo’s web page so that I would not cause a distraction to Heather, or even worse, detract from what the Lord is doing at this time in my daughters’ life. I feel that I would like to say a little about being Heather’s Dad.
I am blessed among all men!
I have tried to be a good father all of Heather’s life, sometimes able, sometimes not.
Heather is the gift of God in my life.
Through her my heavenly Father has taught me so very much about Him. I love my daughter with my whole heart, I could not love her more!
She and Mark, my son, have given to Darlene and I three of the biggest blessings we could ever hope for; Easton, Elijah, and Miss Emma Grace. My life and my heart is FULL, My cup runneth over. Many ask how we can be where we are and count our lives blessed?
My life is wonderful! My life is amazing! My life is blessed! Where else would we go, only Jesus has the words of life. My life is abundant! I love my family, and they love me!

I am blessed among all men!
I am Heather’s Dad! Thank you Lord.
(P.S. Bo is one of H.D.’s many names, like Chuck, Bocephus, Hedder …)
    I love you babe!

You are really blessed to have such a loving family. A beautiful tribute to your loved ones. My little girl has found no acceptance with my relatives which is very sad but ultimately their loss. Your Dad sounds very special! And of course, they have a special wife and daughter too.
    God bless,
    Deborah

I have not written here before. Your tribute to your dad was so sweet that I scrolled down to view the comments. Then I saw your dad’s words and had to leave a comment myself. You are indeed blessed to be the daughter of this man.

I think of you and Emma Grace often.
