Lay it down..

I’ve been lookin’ till my eyes are tired of lookin’
Listenin’ till my ears are numb from listenin’
Prayin’ till my knees are sore from kneelin’ on the bedroom floor
I know that you know that my heart is achin’
I’m running out of tears and my will is breakin’
I don’t think that I can carry the burden of it anymore
All of my hopes and my dreams and my best laid plans,
Are slowly slippin’ through my folded hands

So I’m gonna lay it down
I’m gonna learn to trust You now
What else can I do?
Cause everything I am depends on You
And if the sun don’t come back up
I know Your love will be enough
I’m gonna let it be, I’m gonna let it go,
I’m gonna lay it down.

I’ve been walkin’ through this world like I’m barely livin’
Buried in the doubt of this hole I’ve been diggin’
But You’re pullin’ me out
I’m finally breathin’ in the open air
This room may be dark but I’m finally seein’
There’s a new ray of hope, and now I’m believin’
That the past is past, and the future’s beginning to look brighter now
Oh, cause all of my hopes and my dreams and my best laid plans
Are safe and secure when I place them in Your hands

So I’m gonna lay it down
I’m gonna learn to trust You now
Oh what else can I do,
Cause everthing I am depends on You
And if the sun don’t come back up
I know Your love will be enough
I’m gonna let it be, I’m gonna let it go,
I’m gonna lay it down
I’m gonna lay it down
I’m gonna lay it down.

    Love the song…it’s message.

His love is enough. It’s His love and life that gives meaning to everything.

    Praying for you and yours.

    Heather,
This is my first time to comment, but not to pray for you. I check on you each day and am so thankful for your walk with the Lord and the strength He is giving you. As I thought of you tonight I was reminded of Psalm 91:14-16 (with lots of emphasis on verse 16) “…with a long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.” That is my prayer for you. I came to your site because of your daughter, Emma. I have a son who is sick and not able to live at home with us because of his medical needs so I’m always looking for other moms who take care of children with special needs. I have been so encouraged by your blog, it always helps me to remember that with God all things are possible. Thanks so much for being authentic and humble during your journey. I will continue to pray for you and check on you each day. Jeremiah 29:11!

I checked in before bed and what a blessing I received! We all carry burdens that we need to lay down and I have been wrestling with one tonight. Your message just confirmed what I already knew: just lay it down. May God bless you richly!

    Still praying,
    Love, Terri Sue

God has a precious way of comforting and ministering to us in our time of need through music. May He bring you peace, joy, and hope, even in the midst of your trial.

“Lay it down”, YES! This is exactly what I’ve been asking the Lord to help me do - “Lay it down”! I think that’s so much what He wants us to do; He knows we can’t do it (life) without Him. Blessings to you Heather!

Heather, I “found you” a few days ago, and I was just so drawn into you and your God story. What an amazing story you are living out for Jesus, your faithfulness to Him through all of your trials is SUCH a witness to others, and such a blessing for fellow believers such as myself. As for this post, we all have our stuggles we need to let go and “lay it down” and let me tell you, this song brought me to tears with how much it applies to my life right now. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for your testimony.

    Dear sister,
I am so thankful that this song has touched you/ministered to you! A while ago I posted the words to this song praying that it would indeed encourage your heart. It is a song that has meant so much to me…the song really seemed to say exactly how I was/am feeling! Truly His love is ENOUGH for us today, tomorrow and the day after…He IS our very life! Trusting Him today with you, Heather!! Praying for you…Love, Kari

It’s so simple, yet can be so hard… laying it all down. Giving it all to God. He is so trustworthy, so mighty and so loving. I pray for you always Heather. I pray for healing.
In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Ps. 62:7

I’m just catching up with you after a weekend of babysitting the grandkids. I love the hair piece. You look adorable. And I think the wig is a great choice for you. It frames your pretty face so nicely - a reflection of the sweet spirit within. You are doing so well Heather. Your light is shining.

    Hi Heather,

I can’t begin to tell you how much I’ve enjoyed coming to your blog. Your words of wisdom and hope encourage me each time.

The song was BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for sharing that.

By the way, you looked so pretty in your new wig. I wrote you an email, I’m sure many do, asking more about your brain tumor. My son has one, and I was just curious.

I’ll continue to pray you through, and believe God for your miracle.

    Keep holding on to Jesus,

    Susan

What a beautiful moment to see a Dad baptize his beautiful dd, all for Jesus. Heather, Easton looks *exactly* like her truly beautiful momma.
    Blessings,
    ~Toni~

I would love to hear from you!
