“1st Day of School” Pictures

elieaston1stday.jpg

emma1stday.jpg

Today is the first day of school here in the George house…. Aren’t they precious :)

Now for an update on me. I woke up horribly nauseous, but took Zofran immediately and felt better (I took 2 last night, before Chemo). Over the last month my body has gotten use to eating when ever it is hungry , so it is not use to NOT being able to eat after a certain time. I woke up in the middle of the night starving, but afraid to eat. I have to eat by 6, and take Zofran by 9, then Chemo at 9:30. I think I need to eat small meals through out the day instead of three big meals.

I’m off to take the kids to school :) Normal life stuff!

I love first day of school pictures!! Your kids are lovely!

Whenever you mention Zofran, I shudder just a bit. I had hyperemesis with two of my three pregnancies and was lucky enough the second time around to have a doctor prescribe Zofran (and an insurance company that would cover the cost). Even though Zofran was my best friend back then, I can’t help but think of how sick I was. But it does work wonders, eh? Helps you get through each day.

I love Emma’s bright and cheerful face! My son Caleb is autistic too but he’s not a morning person. He comes down with a HUGE sign of dread on his face as if to say “Oh, yeah, another day” …LOL.. But he chirps up to Emma’s look in about an hour. Keep on, keeping on!

They are all precious and so very blessed to have you as their Momma!
I pray they and you have a very blessed and productive school year!!!

I think the small meals throughout the day sounds like an excellent idea, try to eat every 3 hours or so and eat lots of protein if you can!

    Hugs & Blessings,
    Tiany :-)

Where has the year gone, another school year already. “Normal” things are what you need, they are the things that you look forward to so you don’t think about what you are going through. When I was in treatment, my youngest daughter was in high school and it was a joy to think and hear about her day because it helped me get through mine. Enjoy your childrens days, they go way to fast.

And apple to all of you,
    Hugs,
    Norma

    Hi Heather,

I find eating small frequent meals instead of three heavy meals a much better way to go. You know what I also found helped, nibbling on Ginger Biscuits and sipping Ginger Beer. I also gave those pressure braclets a go, and must say I did so very sceptically but hey they worked. You wear one on each wrist and position the pressure studs where they explain to and they really did work. Also avoiding anything fatty is a great help too. Wrote you an e-mail the other day but I know and realise you are one busy lady, what with your treatments and being a Mum and Wife.
I am now back from my trip around Australia and am going to attempt to write a couple of Weblogs, one being a summary with pics the other being a bit more detailed for those interested. I’ll let you know when I get one of them done so you can have a look. If you have any ideas for me on ho w to go about this I’d really appreciate them.

Take Care and Love to you All.
    Carolynn.

‘”"Beautiful smiling faces!!! Your children are absolutely precious!!!! What excitement expressed iin their faces.

Zofran is definitely the med that helps! I always keep peppermint by my bedside too - it helps with the tummy. When you can’t eat and need liquid, suck on a popcycle….I know the sugar content and all, but it at least helps in getting moisture in the ole body.

    You are in my prayers.

Well, everyone else already said what I was going to say… your kids all look so much like you, and they’re all just beautiful! I wish I was as happy to be awake in the mornings as Emma looks! Happy first day of school! I still have another week before sending my oldest to first grade. I don’t know what his siblings are going to do without him all day… he’s my little peacemaker.

What a beautiful family! Your children look so much like you!

I’m glad the zofran is working. I’m not sure the first anit-nausea that was given to Steven after the first surgery, but it did nothing. Thank goodness for Zofran. It works wonders and keeps the nausea to a managable level.

    Zofran forever!

School…homework…cooking and laundry…it’s the normal everyday things that feel good! Glad it’s coming back.

Adorable pics! And I’m delighted to hear you’re on Zofran…it’s was the only effective drug for my son during his chemo. He, too, had to adjust his meal pattern. More, smaller meals helped a lot.

    Prayers continue.
