He said to stop taking Temador until Monday night, and give my body a break, and then resume taking it for 2 days. He said that I can take Compazine in conjunction with Zofran at night, and to take Tylenol PM before bed. I would have done that, but wanted to confirm that I could take it with chemo.
I told him that I haven’t had an appetite at all this week, and in fact that the sight (and smell) of food makes me extremely nauseous. His suggestion was eat very very small meals, but alot of them through out the day. Don’t worry about quantity, something is better than nothing. Drink lots of water, which I already do. So that didn’t help much.
He said to get labs next week, to check my platelet levels and to call him if I don’t bounce back by Monday.
Thanks for all of your kind words and prayers, I really appreciate them. We did a little school this morning, and I slept this afternoon on the couch while my kids watched a movie. Emma went over to my parents house after school (and is still there now). I know this is going to take some getting use to. I think that, had I had symptoms before, this would be alot easier. I feel like I am self inducing sickness by taking Temador, although I know that is not true and many cancer patients go through this.
I am still trying to get use to the fact that I am a cancer patient.
It’s tough. Thats about all I can say right now. It’s tough.

Praying for you in Alaska.
Heather,
There is another special young girl who is battling cancer, I heard her story through our local news. Her name is Gloria, she’s 11 and has neuroblastoma. Her family is currently praying and waiting for a miracle and their story is so uplifting and amazing. Here’s a link to her story:

Dearest Heather…
One day at a time… one moment at a time… one prayer at a time… as God carries you through and you are healed…!! The enemy may think he has you beaten… battered … and bruised if you will… but we know the “TRUTH” Jesus lived it… we receive it… because of what Jesus did or us… THANK YOU JESUS!!!!
There are lots of things you can have the children do that are educational and do not take a lot of mommy to be there to help. Have them color insects… bugs… animals… trees… for science… and perhaps daddy can help write a little paragraph about what they chose to color. Have them grab their toys and group them to do math. Four blocks and five cars make… do it for add/sub or mult/div. Have them play and learn while doing it. Things they can do that do not take a lot of writing… explanation… just fun! We purchased a HUGE calculator for each of our children to make learning fun and they LOVE it!!! We can sit on the couch and ask each other questions… and they can check to see if the answers are correct. It’s great and needs very little effort on moms part (even younger children just love to push the large buttons and such.) They have wonderful large floor puzzles that all kids just love to try and do no matter what age. Many are educational as well. Doodle boards are always a welcoming learning tool… they allow children to sit anywhere and doodle to their hearts content. Any educational study can be done on a doodle board. Children are learning each and everyday… we just need to be a little creative at times when we are not feeling up to par to make it a full day of studies.
Tell the children mommy needs a “resting buddy” right now… let them know that means you need to rest and they need to be a special buddy. Perhaps they can bring a “special buddy” stuffed animal for you to keep close. They can understand that because they can relate to the comfort they bring to them. Sometimes coming down to their level enables them to be there for us in ways we could never of imagined!!!
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers each and every day!!
Wishing you a beautifully blessed and peaceful weekend…
**Lots of Hugs**
Deborah
I am praying …
Praying for you. And here’s a recipe that was requested in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s reader exchange column. Several people said these cookies helped to curb morning sickness during pregnancy. I’ve shared this recipe with several pregnant moms; maybe it will work for you, too.
Vienna Sugar Cookies
1 pkg active dry yeast 2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup lukewarm water 1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup butter
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. In mixing bowl, beat butter until creamy with electric mixer. Grdually add flour, blending well. Add yeast mixture; blend well. Refrigerate dough until chilled.
Put sugar on a large piece of waxed paper. Pinch off pieces of chilled dough the size of walnuts and shape into balls. Working with one ball of dough at a time, press ball flat into sugar until dough is thin. Keep flipping dough over and pressing it into sugar, until it is the size of a flat doughnut. Place on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake in a preheated 375- degree oven 10-15 minutes, or until very lightly browned. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
(My kids love helping with these. They resemble elephant ears when baked and are deliciously flaky! Hope you can eat them!)

I saw this and thought of you:
Praying that the nausea subsides quickly. (((HUGS)))
Sorry that picture didn’t show up in my comment above. It is a poem that says:
What Cancer Cannot Do
Cancer is so limited….
It can not cripple LOVE
It can not shatter HOPE
It can not corrode FAITH
It can not destroy PEACE
It can not kill FRIENDSHIP
It can not supress MEMORIES
It can not silence COURAGE
It can not invade the SOUL
It can not steal the ETERNAL LIFE
It can not conquer the SPIRIT
You have all of these things that this can not take from you, wishing you all of the best and praying for you.
So sorry you are going through a hard time. I’ll pray for you because that is the best thing I can do. Hoping you are feeling better soon.
Praying for the perfect combination of foods and meds to kick in and make
your nausea stop and your body from head to toe to go hummmmmmmm~
~~Total Balance~~ Rest and don’t Stress. Balance is coming. I hope you feel so much better so much sooner. Laurel in Ca.
thinking about you. you are in my heart.
when my husband was on chemo, and reacting really badly, he could tolerate apple juice watered down. lots of sips. and we tried sea-bands too, don’t know if you have them over there, get them in the pharacy, they are wrist bands with like a button in them which presses into your wrist on the acupuncture point and helps stop nausea. originally for seasickness, people have found them good for morning sickness and chemo treatment. i think of you so often, and pray all will be as heavenly father has planned it.
Oh! How awful for you.
I am such a whimp, I would just ask for some really strong sleeping pills.
And I would take them all the time.
I’m afraid I would just be so hopeless as a mother.
Yep.
Sleeping pills.
Can you get some just so you can sleep at night?
Sweet Heather-
Still praying daily for you, honey!
Shari
Heather,
“Do good, O Lord, to those who are good, to those who are upright in heart.” Psalm 125:4
YOU are good and upright in heart. God will hold you and do good to you. I hope you are feeling better and resting.
Prayers..hugs…and more prayers.

Heather, sweet sister in the Lord!
Try watermelon. I know it sounds crazy, but with the terrible taste in the mouth, it’s the 1 thing that often works. A wee bit sweet, and cools the works down.
Fight on warrior! You are a daughter of the King. Straighten that tiara as you recline on that couch.
You are loved and prayed for by ones who know you not.
I’m praying for you Heather.
love,
Annie
I can’t even find the words to say to you, nothing seems right, but I know The Holy Spirit is interceding for you and knows what you need. Bless you dear Sister~
There should be a new episode of SURVIVOR, called: Survivor–Cancer. All those who go through what you are dealing with should receive an all expense paid trip to see Jeff Probst (just cuz he’s so cute), and $1 million dollars for fun and $1 for charity.
In all seriousness, I’m sorry you’re feeling so rough right now, and I hope your nausea abates…yesterday.
Blessings, Gretchen
Of course I meant $1 million for charity, too.
Praying for you my sweet friend. Hang in there!
Praying for you, sweet Heather. May God just scoop you up and hold you close right now. He alone can ease your sufferings right now, and I pray for relief for you, dear one.
I couldn’t agree more with those that have said you are a cancer survivor. You really are, Heather, and we’re praying hard for you!
I pray that you can find something somewhat appetizing that you can keep down.
I pray that you are given some rest and relief so that you can feel stronger for the next day.
I pray that you continue to know your family’s love for you!
Hang in there!
I posted this morning but was just checking in at the end of my day to see if you’ve updated. I’m praying that you’re enjoying restful sleep right now.
