This regimen seems to be doing the trick 
I took 1 Kytril and 1 Compazine last night before chemo and slept like a baby. In fact I slept so good that as soon as my head hit the pillow at 10pm, I awoke at 6:30am
Fear is such a useless thing, yet we give it so much control over our thoughts and lives. This past week, I dreaded taking chemo, I cant begin to tell you how much I dreaded it. That is what happens when I worry about tomorrow- I get overwhelmed and anxious and start to doubt. When I take it one day at a time, it is so much easier.
My insurance would only approve 6 Kytril pills, so I have to work on that today. They want Prior Authorization from my physician, I am sure that they want to know that what I have been on isn’t working. So I have to call my Oncology Nurse first thing this morning and get that squared away. Any suggestions (and prayer) would be appreciated!
Today I am just going to take it easy. Easton (10) and Elijah (7) are at their Umbrella School today and tomorrow- and Miss Emma (6) is at her autistic school, which she attends weekly.
I am going to lay on the couch and watch tons of OnDemand (was “The Closer” any good last night?) and just rest.
Thank you for your prayers. I cant tell you how much it means to me to know that there are people across the world praying for me on a daily basis. I cant express my gratitude enough.

Best wishes with insurance. I found that it just takes keeping on top of it, lots of phone calls (write down who you talk to, when and about what…I kept a log- came in very handy!!!).
I appreciate what you said about fear…it is amazing how one thing can be so debilitating, yet exhilerating (think of theme park here)…it is so hard to take that daily step, but oh how the blessings come. Sometimes you have to just “walk”…

so glad the Kytril worked! Insurance companies like to give you a hard time. They just like to stall in paying anything, but they will come around. Do you have a social worker at your hospital? They are usually good at getting the insurance to comply. I will be praying about it!

Now that’s more like it!! 8 and 1/2 hours solid, blissful, peaceful and uninterrupted sleep. It’s a no-brainer that you could get used to this real quick huh? I know what you mean about fear. I am very often sucked into the cycle of fear and later look back and realize that not only did it do nothing for me but make me feel worse, but often the situation I feared was not as bad as my fear made me feel!
There is an awesome book I read when I was struggling with a terrifying situation and it really helped to put things into perspective. It is titled Calm My Anxious Heart and was written by Linda Dillow. You have probably already read it but if not, it is really a comforting read.

You mentioned something about bowel problems? what I did when I was pregnant, I took a lot of pure bran, you know the woody looking stuff, I got myself chicken noodle soup and just heaped the bran in there, It didn’t taste great but it did the trick BIG TIME!. Hope you try that.
I did not finish reading all of your blog. So you need to have your pills covered by insurance. Will be praying for that today.

It worked great for my husband, Dave….the Kytril was so expensive we tried it and it worked every bit as well. Thanks again for your words and prayers for Dave today =)

wait as long as you can to pay and 99% of the time, they will reduce what you owe quite substantially.
i can totally identify on all the silly insurance stuff–i had what i thought was a “good” and complete policy, but it turned out that they only covered up to $1000 per day for chemo. and since each day i had chemo cost at least $12,000, the balance that i still owe is quite hefty. obviously, a $1000 daily cap for chemo is unrealistic–but it is hard to spot this kind of thing (even if you know about it) in a huge policy book.
hopefully others can be more aware of what their coverage is and will consider supplemental plans.

A momentary rant…who told HMO’s they had lisc to practice medicine and tell you what you should and should not take…oh yeah I remember, Hilary Clinton! URGH! I am sorry you have to jump thorugh hoops.
Now on to praises….I received the sweetest note from your daddy, it made me cry. So Heather’s Dad, I think you and your wife have raised an amazing young woman of God and although I know free will has a lot to do with who she is, I am certain the two of you showed her the way. I am praying God gives you all the desires of your hearts.
