Wordless Wednesday

Many of you have asked how I kept my eyelashes and eyebrows… I lost my hair due to radiation, not chemo :) The type of Chemo that I am on doesnt cause you to lose your hair (well, I guess if it mentions it in the side effects, someone lost their hair on it, but not many do) I dont go out bald very often because I have a scar across my scalp where they opened my head up and took the tumor out. It isnt a very pretty site :) I can feel screws, literally, on the surface of my scalp under the skin. I can feel where they cut out a piece of my skull and put it back in, jagged edges and all :) But I am still here, and that is what is important, right?

Look who lost TWO teeth :)

Truly Heather you look great with no hair. Not a lot of people can say they can pull off the “no hair” look and still look beautiful, but I do believe you are one of those “lucky ones” that can. You have amazing eyes by the way….but I am sure you know that.
I hope this is an awesome day for you and your family.

To your blog a few days ago. “whatever Lord” remember the song “I will never be the same again” one of the verses says…”whatever you need to do, Lord do in me.”
Just thought that might be a good song for you to worship to.

I love the shirt! My little cousin had one. He was only 5 when he had cancer! He is doing great now! I wish I would have had a shirt like that when I went through my cancer! It is cool!
That is interesting that the chemo does not make your hair come out. I am sure yours will start growing back quickly now. Mine started coming in straight and then all of a sudden it got SUPER curly!! It was fun while it lasted as I have never had curly hair. It lasted about 9 months or so and then started going away. It is a bit wavy now, but not curly anymore. It will be fun to see how yours comes back. I was hoping to come back as a red head, but it didn’t work! I had more gray than when I started and so I had to color my hair now! Anyway, I think you look great with or without hair!
    Love, Gina

I often wonder if you had a “weak stomach” before all of this.

That is unbelievable how you described what you physically feel on your head.

I have a weak stomach. It was my hard for me to read.

But, I know it was harder for YOU to LIVE.

Yes, you ARE HERE and your God is with you - and that’s all that matters.

Losing teeth is sooooooo much fun (well, for kids…LOL). What did the tooth fairy bring her?????? Don’t leave us in suspense!

You have a nice shaped head and carry being bald well… better then most men do. We call my husband Uncle Fester when he shaves his head. With your eyebrows and eyelashes still intact it’s a stunning look.

My sil has reoccurring brain tumors- they have been removed in the course of two surgeries over the years and are not cancerous. (last surgery was in Jan of last year) I am sorry you have cancer, it is good that you have the Lord and are relying on him.
