A Few Of My Favorite Things…

December 17, 2007

If you haven’t heard yet, Boomama is again hosting The Christmas Tour of Homes and this year I am participating, oh yes I am…. so let the festivities begin!

These are just a few of the ornaments on my Christmas tree. Let me tell you why they are my most favorite thing… THEY ARE PLASTIC! With tile floors in the living room, I quickly got over hearing the sound of glass ornaments crashing on the floor everytime Emma or the dog (or both) would decide to rearrange brush up against the tree. So off to Target I went and came home with classy silver and red ornaments. Now you may not think that “plastic” equals “classy” but anything that makes my life easier rates a ten on my classy list!

This is my entry way table. You would never believe that this was once my Kitchen table :) My dad sawed it in half and the other larger half is bolted to the dining room wall as a desk ;)

These are a few of my favorite things on my entry table. My most favorite thing is the angel holding up “hope”. :)

My Dining Room Armoire. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get the lights to not do that in the picture!

This is what I call my “Angel Table”. My oldest daughter, Easton’s nick name is “angel” so it was only appropriate that her pictures went on the angel table too!

So from our house to yours, We pray you have a very memorable Christmas. Remember to make lots of memories and to keep Christ the center of Christmas…. It is all about Him after all!

Wonderful to see your love poured out in each room.

Thanks for sharing the “half table” so clever, I’ll be copying that idea for sure!

With my prayers, Martha

O.K.Sunshine, how can you saw a table in half and have the ‘bigger’ half as a desk?
Sounds a bit like what I would say.
Thanks for sharing, may you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and may 2008 bring all your dreams to reality. Carol from Australia

The plastic ornaments look great! I had a near miss with one of my glass ornaments this year…silly dog knocked it off on the tile, but miraculously, it didn’t break.

Merry Christmas! I read your blog often and you always encourage and inspire me. God bless.

Can I borrow your dad? I have a few chores I could give him, and he seems to do a wonderful job. :) Blessings for a wonderful Christmas and a HEALTHY new year. love, Gretchen

Your home decorations are simply lovely! I too have that set of Angels and they sit atop of my bakers rack looking down upon our family. God Bless :)

I love the Willow Tree angel holding the heart. For the past few years, my 92 year old blind grandmother has insisted on going downtown and buying me and my sister each one of these. She feels each angel till she finds one that represents what she wants to convey to us. She’s never duplicated, and she only does this for the 2 of us: our brothers and all our cousins just get checks for Christmas. I now have a little collection that I know I’ll treasure forever.

Merry Christmas Heather! We’re promoting the heavy use of plastic as well, here in the house of Fiddle.

18 Lynnebee December 20, 2007 at 7:47 pm

One of my favorite things also…the angel holding HOPE as well…in my room where I see it before I go to bed. Yahoooey about the MRI too…see you next year! Love in Him, Lynnebee

Thank you for inviting us in to view all your Christmas decorations. Everything looks so beautiful, warm and festive. I love the “thing” your lights did in that one picture! They looked ALIVE! Ha!Ha! I like glitzy stuff anyway.

Thanks for the tour – I LOVE the idea of the table! I’m so glad you’re able to enjoy Christmas this year! Be Blessed! (p.s. – I have kept up with your story on and off. I found you several months before your cancer was discovered. I have a six year old son with austism.)
