All Clear :)

I just got back from Moffit and my MRI was clear! I am exhausted from getting up a 5:45 so I am going to go lay down but I didn’t want you all to be worried! Thank you for your prayers. When I was in the MRI, surrounding by the loud noise the machine makes, I imagined all of you in that room with me, praying for me and it really helped! I am going to do that every MRI from now on…

:)

Thanks again, you’ll never know how much it means to me and my family. Really.

Oh, one bit of bad news… I have lost another 6 pounds (since my visit four weeks ago.) That is a total of about 40 pounds since June… I need to work on that… I eat great, but still lose weight. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks!

    Great news! :D

When I had severe hyperemesis and kept losing weight during pregnancy, one of the things that I could keep down was those Boost milkshakes you can get at the store. There were suggested to me by several people. The chocolate one tasted just like chocolate milk, and I could gulp it down pretty quick without problems. Something about the ratio of protein in them was better than other brands… sorry I don’t have more scientific facts than that, LOL! ;)

  2. glad for the good news!
    yay

have you tried digestive enzymes to get more out of the food you eat?

  3. Awesome news, Heather! And I swear by ice cream to put on weight – at least I can say it’s worked for me.

    Congrats and praise God.

this is such wonderful news…on the weight gain issue…there are a few natural herbs u can take to stimulate appetite…300 grams of complex carbs, 100 grams of protein, 2500-3000 calories per day is diet recommendation for cancer patients whose nuritional requirements are higher because of treatments…avoid all junk food and lean towards high calorie nutritional foods/snacks, yogurt, yogurt fruit shakes, nuts, avocados, raw cheese…email me if you want to discuss
    it in more detail.

    Heather – my friend!

God helped me find you back just last night, and shed just a little light on what you have been going through.

I think of you so often, and miss you often too.

Then – when I least expected it, I was confronted by a friend of a friend of yours – who knows just enough to tell me you have cancer, and that you are no longer in Jacksonville.

That’s all I have, but it is enough for now – Enough for me and Randy to be praying for you, my dear friend!

    Please contact me!

God bless you! AND I KNOW THAT HE HAS!

What wonderful news, Heather!! Praise God for such wonderful news!

Peanut butter is protein which is good for healing, also! (RN talking…) Make yourself some protein powder shakes with scoops of ice cream. I use about an inch of coffee in the blender, add 2 scoops of EAS chocolate protein powder, and blend. Drop about 6-8 ice cubes down the shoot while blending and add about 1/4 tsp of Xanthan gum (this is the secret…it is a thickner and you can buy it in places like Eathfare, etc) It makes the shake thick and wonderful. (without it the shake will be more “icy”). I use this shake to LOSE weight but if you add scoops of ice cream you get the protein AND fat and goodness! A WIN-WIN situation!! Should be like a big thick shake!! (With the ice cream you may not actually need the Xanthan gum) but the protein powder will make it actually good for healing rather than a normal malt or milk shake. Enjoy!

How wonderful, Heather, that you are seeing the positive side of all of this. My DH is finishing up his radiation the 29th and will be tested 3 months later (prostate cancer). We, too, see the greatness of God shining through! Hang in there and enjoy all those wonderful things in your life that you listed in your post!
Love your sister in Christ (in NC!), Viv

most of us would be loving the weight loss.
I’m thinking you need to talk with your doctor and a nutritionist. Probably a side effect of all that rough cancer treatment.

Sure was a lovely sight on bloglines to see that “All Clear.”

About needing to gain weight. I would talk to someone who knows something about nutrition. I’ve been reading up on Cancer. My son has Colorectal type that is inherited type. His Dad had it.
Cancer loves to feed off of surgar. So
I wouldn’t be eating sweets. Also parasites are involved from some of the information I’ve been reading. I’d check to see if you have an overgrowth of yeast in your body. A lot of people have it and don’t know it. You have to get rid of it to get the nutrients to do their work.
I went to a Naturopath myself and found out about it. I read that people who have Cancer or had it have an overgrowth of yeast also. Just some things to check into. Don’t eat sweets. Yeast feeds off of sweets also. Do you know of someone who could recommend a Naturopath Doctor?
Lifting you up in Prayer!!! Also stay away from peanuts!
    Keep Praying the Healing Scriptures!
God will give you wisdom. Ask him for it.

God Bless You and Your Family Heather!!!

Praise God! I’m so happy for you that the MRI went well. As for the weight, not sure I can help much as I need to be loosing, but others have mentioned lots of carbs – that would be my suggestion too!

    Praise God!
    Congratulations!! :)
Ensure was the only thing that “helped” me gain some weight years ago. It’s an… acquired taste.

That is wonderful news, Heather, God is so good.

As for the weight, I lost a lot of weight also, but we weren’t to concerned about it as I was overweight to start with. Besides, there will come a day that your appetite will come back and you will have to watch what you eat. Believe me, I know. As long as losing the weight isn’t affecting the rest of your health, I wouldn’t worry about it.

    Have a peaceful rest now.

    Hugs N Prayers,
    Norma

look into eating gluten free. Gluten intolerance can rear it’s ugly head at any age and often will cause excessive unexplained weight loss or weight gain. I feel so much better since i stopped eating it.

I am so happy to see that your MRI is clear.
