Chemo week and a request

I started my 6th round chemo last night. That means I am half way done! I will be out of commission for most of this week, but please join me back here for the Ultimate Blog Party this Friday where I will be celebrating the half way mark of being done with chemo!

Ultimate Blog Party 2008

Specific Prayer Requests this week:

That chemo would do only what it is suppose to do and nothing more.

That my platelets would stay above 100,000 (last week they were 124,000)

That the Lord would bless our womens bible study that starts tonight

That I would keep a positive attitude and not let the future worry or concern me.

That satan would stay out of my thought life

That this would be the easiest chemo round yet ;)

Before I sign off, please visit Shaun Barrowes’ blog and purchase his song. 100% of the proceeds go towards cancer research. Shauns little brother recently had a malignant brain tumor removed just like me, and this is Shauns tangible way to help fight for his little brother and people like me.

A note from Shauns blog:

Here’s the reason I chose Gateway for Cancer Research:
My brother was recently diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. He underwent brain surgery and was very fortunate to make a full recovery from the procedure. He’s one of the lucky ones, and I’m very grateful for the Cancer research that provided doctors like his with the necessary means to cure him.

However, this experience has brought me to an awareness of the dangers of cancer, and has inspired me to take action. So I came across Gateway for Cancer Research and found it to be an effective organization dedicated to curing cancer through funding patient-centered clinical studies that make an impact on those battling cancer (http://www.gatewayforcancerresearch.com).

Please visit and purchase his song, it is only 99 cents. That is cheaper than a Starbucks Coffee and just think of all of the cancer patients you will be helping… cancer patients like me and Shauns little brother.

Thank you so much for doing this (and if you feel led, leave me a note in my comments telling me that you purchased his song).

I will see you back here Friday Morning :)

Lord I pray that Heather sails through this week of chemo. Thank you for sustaining her. Please guard her heart and mind from attack from the enemy. Please protect every healthy cell of her body and every platelet and direct that chemo to the very hidden cells that need destruction. Lord, in you we live and move and have our being. May Heather sense your presence every moment this week and know deep in her heart the truth of every promise you’ve given about your nearness, your protection, your love, and your sustaining power. In the powerful name of Jesus, AMEN.

Heather, I enjoy your blog so much, from a spiritual standpoint, the encouragement I gain from your perspective even as man’s wisdom would say that you are the one in need of the encouragement. Yet you encourage me. I usually don’t comment. But today I felt led. Not sure why. Something about your last post. I just wanted you to know that my hubby and I were married in 1995. We were older when we married, had each lived on our own and so we each had only one attendant. Mine was my mom. He selected not his best friend, but a casual friend he wanted to cheer up as he waited to die. He too had a brain tumor, very large, and even AFTER the surgery was given less than 2 months. Today, he is still with us. His life hasn’t exactly gone the best, but those were his choices. The point being, to remind you what you already know. God will have His will. And the size of the tumor or the doctor’s report is really irrelevant to the outcome. But still I pray that His will would be for you to be healed. For I know from your pattern here on your blog that you will build Him an alter with your words.

Praying for each request and asking God to come and bring Himself to you more abundantly than you ever expected this week–that you would know His Presence and be sheltered under His wing. May you be fully unaware of every evil intent of the enemy and be fully engrossed in the face of God upon you and your family. May He comepletely heal you, sweet friend!
    Much love,
    holly
