Sunday Morning Update…

First, thank you all so much for your prayers.  Emma is doing slightly better as of yesterday, she was taken off of oxygen so that is good :)   Her Echocardiogram looked slightly better regarding her function, so the Milrinone is working.  The fluid around her heart and lungs is decreased, but there is still alot there.  They have upped her lasix and lowered her steroids.  This is good and bad news.  It almost removes the possibility of viral infection because of how quickly the improvements were seen.  The Cardiologist that saw her yesterday (remember it is the weekend, so we will see the Transplant Cardiologist on Monday) said that he was 95% sure that this was severe acute rejection.  This is not the news we had hoped for, but we will work through it.  She is scheduled for a heart catheterization and biopsy on Monday, they will also be looking at her coronary arteries because in 2006 it was discovered that she had transplant related coronary artery disease (Long-term survival of heart transplant recipients is limited by the development of transplant coronary artery disease).  If it is the coronary arteries, that would be very bad news.  There is no treatment other than medication (which most she is already on) and when they stop working the only other option is another transplant. We dont even want to think about that right now.

So please pray for us Monday, Pray for her.  She is 3rd on the list for the OR, so it should be anywhere from 12-3pm, depending on the other two ahead of her.  I am so thankful that this chemo cycle for me was so very easy, that was one prayer the Lord answered.

And He isnt done yet, we fully believe that.

“The LORD your God is with you,
       he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing.”
       -Zephaniah 3:17

I’ve been waiting to hear from you to find out what’s going on. I’m glad there’s some good news, as cautious as it is. I’m still praying for Emma and her heart as well as for you, your husband, and your family that you all have the strength to get through this. Thankfully your chemo was easy this go around, but I’m praying the cancer just goes away completely so you don’t have to deal with it anymore.

Praying for your family, Heather. I have been away from my computer for a while and started praying as I have scrolled down the posts. This verse is one my favorites. Beth Moore shared this about this verse. The part where it says He will quiet you with His love, is a word picture of you sitting on Gods lap and he is rocking you and “shh shh shh’ing you like we do our children. So I life you up to that place in Gods Big rocking chair and thank HIm in advance for quieting your fears and troubles with His love.
