She is up! :)

The last few days Emma has not wanted to get out of bed, much less stand. She has been in pull ups (which is so not her) and has taken 6 hour naps (which again, so not her) only getting up to eat. We have had to bribe her to take wagon rides and just getting out of bed wore her out.

Well, when Mark and I came back from lunch today she was sitting up in her bed asking to get out to go to the bathroom (again, something she hasn’t been doing regularly since she has been here) and then she wanted to go for a walk! A WALK! She is now on the floor playing with legos with her dad.

This does my heart so good. Just seeing a glimpse of the Old Emma is encouraging!

They stopped the Milrinone after her walk, and we will do another echo in the morning to determine where her heart function is. They are also throwing a party in her room for her birthday tomorrow (with cake and presents!) and my parents are bringing the other two kids over tonight (with presents). Sadly Easton and Elijah are not old enough to come to her room in ICU, but we got the doctor to write an order for her to go to the family waiting room to see them :)

Oh, and her CMV study came back negative, which we were concerned about.

Ill update tomorrow after the ECHO and the birthday party :)

Thanks for your prayers

    Thank You Lord Jesus!

You posted this right after I finally was able to write and send my prayer and comment! Indeed God answers prayer!

I had Internet problems at home, ran over to a nearby cyber to finish reading your update, starting typing but lost it when I began to storm the gates for you all in prayer…so I came home and attempted again…this time, I was able to send it for WHEN I FALL APART post than I came back and saw that you had posted this…Emma is UP…one step at a time…playing with dad legos..this is so GREAT! Don’t wear her out but I’m so glad that
you are able to see some of the usual Emma and she is being
    healed before your eyes!!!

God be with you and GOD be there for the ECHO with good results!!! and I don’t know what it means that CMV was negative but you seem OK with that…so Praise GOD and still praying!

Sorry to hear Elijah and Easton aren’t able to be admitted but glad they are joining you with your family and I pray that all is well and goes well. That Emma has strength for her birthday
party and special visitors…and thank you, Lord for a doctor who makes special allowances for family and family times together!!! Happy Birthday Emma!!! Keep fighting the good fight just like your mom…it’s in the BLOOD you know…HIS BLOOD, HIS NAME and your continual testimony of HIS GREATNESS…Press on and do not be discouraged! Peggy

I just love answered prayer when God is stormed with so much trust and love for your little Emma. She looks wonderful sitting with her Daddy. Thanking Him for all of the good reports and asking Him to bring all of the other needs in line here. He is so good and loves you so much. And a birthday party for Emma, how great is that. Have a most wonderful time knowing God keeps this birthday girl close to His heart. I am so blessed for you and this great news.

Love you all, Laurie in Ca.       ( I just love these things!!!)

Heather - I’m so happy to hear that Emma is doing better! After reading your last post, I was in tears. I can’t know what you’re going through, but I’ve dealt with a very ill daughter, too (mental illness, self-mutilation). Seeing them hurt and knowing you can do nothing? It’s the worst.

Your faith through all of this is an inspiration. God is right there with you - Peace - D

Oh my goodness! I found your website on accident and just sent you an email, only to have my own question (if your daughter received her heart though LifeLink and ACH in Tampa/St. Pete) answered on the blog.

Please let me help in any way. I live in Seminole, just minutes from ACH and am also a LifeLink transplantee (one year on June 11th!)

Our kids are of similar ages, as well! My son will be 8 in July.

I just read your previous posts about Emma. I immediately thought of the blessing of Aaron in Numbers 6. “The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord turn His face to you and give you peace.” It sounds like you need it right now.

    Hi Heather,

I’ve been working with your husband since my wife and I moved to Florida. I haven’t met you or your family yet, but I feel as though Kristi and I are already getting to know you as my friendship with your husband has developed and as Kristi and I have been praying for your family over the last several months.

Our hearts and prayers are with you (and especially little Emma) right now. Please know that you have a brother and sister in Christ that are hurting, hoping, and praying with you.

    Love,
