Worship..
July 20, 2008
This morning at church, we really really worshiped, not that we don’t always really worship, but today we really really worshiped. We sang one of my favorite songs, None but Jesus by Hillsong, and although we have sang it a dozen times at church, it really really ministered to me this morning. I was all about raising my hands while leading worship without a care who was watching me or if I was making a fool of myself. Sometimes I get so caught up in the “performance” that I miss the “worship” and have been consequently convicted :)
Really read the words to this song, and turn up the volume. Raise your hands and really worship Him.
Because really, there is None but Jesus.
Hillsong - None But Jesus
In the quiet, in the stillness
I know that You are God
In the secret of Your presence
I know there I am restoredWhen You call I won’t refuse
Each new day again I’ll chooseThere is no one else for me
None but Jesus
Crucified to set me free
Now I live to bring Him praiseIn the chaos, in confusion
I know You’re Sovereign still
In the moment of my weakness
You give me grace to do Your willWhen You call I won’t delay
This my song through all my daysAll my delight is in You Lord
All of my hope, all of my strength
All my delight is in You Lord Forevermore

I would love to hear from you!

We did this one too. And like you, it’s one we’ve done a hundred times, but yesterday it meant something else… and those same verses! My husband has been struggling heavily with his depression and anxiety the last three weeks (looooong stroy about his script etc) and it’s been crazy. It was good to be reminded that the Lord is still with both of us in the midst of it, and still, as always, Sovereign.

WOW, this was amazing, thank you for sharing. I know what you mean about really worshiping, even though you worship every week. Sometimes we just aren’t connecting like we should or maybe we aren’t in the need the same way. When it happens it is incredible; especially when it happens to a large portion of the congregation. Corporate worship like that fuels us so much more than when we are on our own with it.
Again, thanks for sharing. I have been reading your blog for a little while now and really enjoy it.

Nothing is sweeter than when we find ourselves truly in the heart of worship. When all pretenses are laid aside and we are just loving and adoring our Father….
Mmmmm, so sweet.

Heather,
Just wanted to let you know that I so appreciate your thoughts, insights, the things that the Lord gives you to share, for indeed it touches others in so many ways.
It is a reminder to me, as I traveled this journey, went through the chem and radiation, the surgeries, how close the Father was too me and gave me the strength, the hope to press on in Him.
How He has taken everything that I have or well go through, to bring glory to Him and hopefully hope to others, as we hold on to Him.
It is going on five years now, being cancer free, each day is a chance to reflect Him.
Thank you for being a source of encouragement to so many of us.
Your daughter, your family and you will daily be in my prayers!
