Around the house..
August 6, 2008
These are things that can often be heard around my house:
Mark: Emma, dont eat that book!
Emma: The wheels on the bus go poop poop poop!
The driver on the bus goes poop poop poop!
The blinkers on the bus go…. you get the point..
Easton: Elijah, get out of my room! (x 1000)
Elijah: Emma, get out of my room! (x1000)
Emma: Poop! (can you tell she likes to say poop?)
Next week begins our year of Homeschooling. So if you don’t hear from me, it is probably because I am lost somewhere in homeschool-ville, trying to get my bearings. It also is the season for football games, guitar lessons, field trips, did I mention football games?
One quick update:
My next MRI, labs and oncology appt is Sept 24th. Please pray that it is clear and that the chemo has done its job. I will be getting follow up MRIs every two months for the next year. Then we will move to every three months. MRIs will be in my life for the rest of my life. Pray that I do not get too anxious before them, and learn to enjoy the here and now :)
May God, who puts all things together,
makes all things whole,
Who made a lasting mark through the sacrifice of Jesus,
the sacrifice of blood that sealed the eternal covenant,
Who led Jesus, our Great Shepherd,
up and alive from the dead,
Now put you together, provide you
with everything you need to please him,
Make us into what gives him most pleasure,
by means of the sacrifice of Jesus, the Messiah.
All glory to Jesus forever and always!
Oh, yes, yes, yes.
-Hebrews 19-21

I would love to hear from you!

Wow! The sounds of “normal” life are amazing, aren’t they! I applaud you for homeschooling…you make such a wonderful impact on your children’s lives.
Praying for a sparkling clean MRI.

Heather, you can totally do this homeschooling thing. Don’t be afraid to let your children know you don’t have all the answers! Instead, teach them how to find out!
Make sure you have a plan - not an hour by hour plan, but at least plan what you want to cover each day. Your day will go so much more smoothly, and if there’s something you simply can’t get to, put it on the next day’s list.
I so remember our first day of homeschooling. I’ll be praying for you!

Praying for good positive MRI results.
Good luck with homeschooling. Some people, like you, seem to be cut out for it. I, on the other hand, am not. I applaud you for doing it.

ROFL!! Isn’t being a mom awesome!!! Seriously, these things that make us crazy sometimes are the same things that make us smile when we take the time to see it for what it is, we have “normal” kids!

Good luck with the homeschooling. I wish more than anything that my husband and I would have done that.
You most certainly will be in my prayers for a clean MRI scan in September and all in the future!

I don’t comment as often lately, but I did want you to know that you are in my prayers daily. I’m sure it is comforting to return to homeschooling, to a sense of “normal” for your family. Take care and enjoy your first week of school.
