Your blog is always inspiring to me although we have very different political views. But that’s what makes America great, we can agree, or not, as the case may be and still be respectful. I did vote for Obama because I liked what he had to say. I felt happy to hear he had been elected and I hope the people here who are not informed of what he is about can find peace. Barack is indeed a Christian and a fine family man. At least he ran a clean campaign………..

McCain admits he is not born again and has never been baptized-but goes with the Christian faith. McCain was also unfaithful and divorced his wife. If this is what you based your vote on, I’m afraid you’ve been misinformed. It’s still everyone’s choice, but unfortunately, I think the reasons are often based on rumor more than fact. Either way, I think the idea of prayer for our new president is awesome, and John McCain was very gracious in his speech-that’s the most I’ve ever liked him.

So a cool little piece of info… One of my best friends told me that when she went to camp as a teen… Mercy me was the praise and worship band. They were at that camp. Cool huh? And Casting Crowns the P&W band at the camp we go to.

And the election… I didn’t vote for Obama. I think one of my issues with him is that he is not a Christian. That being said, I think you can do what is right for a Country, regardless. I pray for him. I pray that he is able to bring a Country and a World together that is going in so many different ways.

God knew what was going to happen with this election, and I know he has his hand on all of this. I just wish we could understand it a little better.

Above Obama or McCain, He does reign.

Heather, seem my above comments have angered a homosexual reader of yours. I hope you’ll give me an opportunity to say to this person who very rudely commented on my blog anonymously (like a coward), that I welcome comments, even if they are not in agreement with my own views. However, I will not tolerate hate filled comments directly targeted towards my family. If you can present yourself in an adult manner, with something objective to talk about, I’ll leave your comments whether I agree or not. But ones like the one you just left will be swiftly deleted.

While the election in general disgusted me, I have been praying fervently for our president-elect. That he won didn’t catch many Americans by surprise so surely it didn’t catch God by surprise. I pray that God would stir his heart to salvation and give him wisdom to lead this country in the way that it should go and not in the way it’ll likely go. We are in much need of prayer but God is absolutely still in control – HE is my King and no president can take His place on the throne of my heart.

Might I add HUGE PROPS to CA, AZ and FL for banning gay marriage!!!! It does my heart good to see states that will stand for the truth of God’s Word when former conservative states (like my home state of NH) have gone blue. Good for you CA!

This Democrat thanks you for your gracious words. I was VERY proud to be an American last night, not only because Barack Obama won an historic election, but also because of Senator McCain’s graciousness that he displayed by the concession speech he gave after all the numbers had been crunched and so forth.

John McCain is a good and honorable man. I hope that he and President-Elect Obama can find a way to put aside their differences and work TOGETHER for the betterment of America.

We may be on opposite sides of the political spectrum, Heather, but I have always found your blog to be insightful and inspiring. You’ve garnered the support of many, many people during your battle against cancer, Heather, and regardless of who falls where on whatever issue, I think it is safe to say that the people who read your blog, including myself, pray for your continued good health every day.

I’m always so amazed and so humbled at your responses to things in this world and things in your life. You are always so gracious, so giving, and so full of prayer even when things do not turn out the way you hope. You’re an inspiration to me and I really hope that I can be as gracious. You truly humble me, Heather, and I am so thankful that I can read your words.

I am so proud that we have come this far to elect an African American president, and I am happy that we can all get together and pray for this country and our new president.
