Your story is inspiring. Your heart for Him is encouraging and promises hope for all of us.

Easton, everything that everyone has said about your selfless act of buying your mom this wig, mostly because you wanted to help her feel more like her old self again, has been true. That said, I don’t believe that there really are any words to adequately express just how rare and special it is when someone your age does something that is as selfless and loving as what you’ve done for your Mom.

A lot of kids your age DO understand the importance of looks, but on a different level, in my opinion. I don’t want to lump you in with everyone else by saying this, but most kids your age are superficial when it comes to looks. You have clearly demonstrated that, by using your own Christmas $$$ to buy something that may seem trivial to a lot of other kids your own age, you understand how beauty is more than just skin-deep. I’ve always thought that your Mom is a pretty lady, with or without hair. However, my opinion and everyone else’s doesn’t matter as much as your Mom’s own sense of self-image, and even though it shouldn’t, losing one’s hair has a profound effect on a person. I think you’ve demonstrated pretty clearly that you understand that even though she hasn’t changed on the inside, your Mom’s hair is still in a state of flux right now. You’ve shown that you understand that her self-image has been affected by that.

Looks are certainly not everything, but when something we take for granted, such as the hair on our head, disappears, it does affect our sense of dignity and self-esteem in the process, no matter how much we try to NOT let it affect our self-esteem and dignity. When you recognized, Easton, that your Mom’s self-esteem and dignity had been affected by her changing hair, you took selfless steps to see to it that your Mom’s self-esteem and dignity as a human being remains intact. To me, that is a mark of an adult. I know your Mom and Dad may not want to hear this, but you are growing up, and, in the process, are becoming an exceptional young woman, Easton.

In short, young lady, you rock. Oh… by the way… Heather, that wig looks incredible on you!

Easton is precious…partially because you are precious. You have raised her to follow in your footsteps, Heather. That’s the real blessing. She will never forget how she made her Mama smile.

I do love the cut and style too. Makes me think how much easier life would be if I just shaved my head and wore wigs! I could be any color and length anytime I want!

Oh my goodness, Heather. Whenever I scrolled down to the photos you simply took my breath away! I thought you were lovely in your previous wig styles, even more beautiful with no hair at all, but this one is just perfect.

You look just gorgeous in that wig. We have a wig and Christian book store in our town that has been here for 40 years. They started the book store then added the wigs because cancer survivors needed it. She considered it her ministry. She told me the other day that cancer survivors have increased so dramatically in the last few years that she is amazed at the need for the wigs.
