She Speaks…

January 26, 2009

godsand

I am going to be attending the “She Speaks” conference this year! Thanks to Lisa @ SimplyHis & Proverbs 31 Ministries, my conference fee is paid, and Lisa has graciously offered to pay for the hotel and pick me up from/drive me to the airport. So that basically only leaves my airfare.

She wrote me an email saying the following:
I seriously thought last year that you should have been there — more so than me. I never thought He’d use me to help get you to this one :D So cool!

He definitely used her in ways she cannot even begin to comprehend. It has always been my dream to write a book and give conferences, but never really knew where to start. This is the perfect opportunity for me to jump in and really soak up the information, and it is a chance for me to put my testimony to work in ways I never dreamed possible.

I honestly cannot tell you how excited yet overwhelmed I am. Since my cancer diagnosis, the Lord has really impressed upon my heart that this journey, in many ways, is not for me or about me. He will use my life story for His glory, and that is my hearts cry, to be fully used by Him. Which brings me full circle to my life verse:

I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. Pressing on Toward the Goal. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
-Philippians 3:12-14

So, thank you Lisa and thank you Proverbs 31 Ministries for this awesome gift. I am eternally grateful.

Really.

So who else is going?!

Oh Heather, I feel just like you do about cancer. I know God had a purpose in it and I know in my heart that I’m now called to do something with all of that. I’m waiting for the Lord to speak clearly to me about what that is.

Enjoy the conference, and I can’t wait to see where the Lord leads you.

I am so psyched about the conference! July is just too far away! Ack! But it’ll let things sink in for sure :)

I can’t wait to meet you and to take you to the conference. I think the P31 women are all going to love on you :) I don’t know what God has planned, but it’s amazing to see what He’s done with a small thought that popped in my head at the conference last year :D

I can’t wait to meet you too! I’ve been reading your blog for a very long while. I admired your writing and design skills months before you found out about the cancer. Now, I’m amazed at the faith you share on your blog!

SQUEE! I’m so excited :) I just can’t hide it! … Ok, I’ll stop singing now!

Come into His presence with Praise and Thanksgiving! Amen!
I have been learning to talk with God, not at God or moreso shut my mouth and listen, like a child should at times. Excellent post! Have a wonderful week!

That’s great! I think you will thoroughly enjoy it! I did last year and would love to go back but it falls on the weekend of another commitment for me this year. The speakers are awesome and you get to meet so many wonderful people. Enjoy!
