I have wanted to post for the past, oh month, but holy cow has it been one thing after another in the George house. Emma has been sick for the past two weeks with the flu, which required an over night visit in ICU. Then, of course, I was the lucky recipient of said Influenza A along with a peptic ucler (dont take ibuprofen before bed for months.. trust me) which caused me to vomit huge amounts of blood all night long (Too much info, I know). Since then it has trickled itself down our family line one by one. Between the coughing, sneezing, vomiting, high temps and other sundry bodily fluids, we are all home (Except Mark, who went to work), doped up on Tylenol and cough suppressants.
Oh, and Lysol is staying in business thanks to us.
I am finally feeling “better” but not up to par by any means. I am suppose to see my doctor this week to schedule an endoscopy, which I am not looking forward too, but throwing up blood was not pleasant. I woke up in the middle of the night to a massive stomach-ache which can only be described as if someone was ripping my insides out of my body, literally… you can picture the rest.
I am so sorry that I have neglected my blog. It seems like forever since I wrote here. It’s not for lack of things God is doing in my life.. because in the last couple of weeks there have been so very many things I want to tell you about.. it is just that I lack the energy to actually put them in a blog post that actually makes sense.. I have really enjoyed Crazy Love and have so much to tell you about it. I am on chapter 5 (you can follow the chapter videos on the Crazy Love link that I provided above) which talks about lukewarm Christianity.
It has really rocked my spiritual life, especially this question:
Are you willing to say to God that He can have whatever He wants? Do you believe that wholehearted commitment to Him is more important than any other thing or person in your life? Do you know that nothing you do in this life will ever matter, unless it is about loving God and loving the people that He has made?
That means loving the person that (you fill in the blank.) You see, the bible doesnt give us excuses not to love someone. It gives us permission to put boundaries up, but it does NOT give us permission not to love. And to love someone that has hurt you, boy it is HARD. Ask me how I know. But this past few weeks I have really focused on the above question and the impact that unforgiveness has had on my SPIRITUAL life, because that is what really matters in the end. Is my spiritual life pleasing to my heavenly father, and am I willing to lay everything down for Him… including my hurt and unforgiveness.
Do you know that nothing you do in this life will ever matter, unless it is about loving God and loving the people that He has made?
What is your answer?
(Btw, I highly encourage you to pick up a copy of Crazy Love at your local Christian bookstore. It will change your spiritual life.)

So sorry you are sick. It sure seems to be going around. My daughter and granddaughter were sick, hubby was sick and yesterday I slept until 11:30 a.m.! Unreal! But I must have needed it. I’m praying the endoscopy (yuck) goes very well and that your whole family very, very soon enjoys complete healing. Running to check out the Crazy Love site. Hugs to you!

Hi Heather! It’s so good to hear your sweet voice; and that despite the setbacks and the hurdles that you are STILL PRAISING GOD! Amen & amen!!! Praying that you & your precious family will be healthy soon! Please take the time to rest in Him and get well. Your family needs you!
As for your question, I do believe that our whole-hearted commitment to God is more important than any thing or any person…I believe that’s what we should be striving for.
It’s a journey of transformation…one day at a time, sometimes even moment by moment…learning to rely on God, learning to trust Him (completely) and then choosing to be obedient.
As we learn to surrender ourselves completely, our lives become what God desires ~ a reflection of HIM.

Looking forward to reading more of your thoughts on ‘Crazy Love’; I have heard so much about it on twitter and other Christian blogs…I must pick up a copy!

Heather,
I am so glad to read your post today. I have been concerned. Other than certain medical procedures AND chemo, I can’t think of anything worse feeling than the stomache flu, yuk. Makes one say, “Come quickly Lord Jesus, this is a real good time for the Rapture!”
You are in my prayers dear sister.
Hi Heather,
I was wondering about you too, the Lord has put you on my mind many times the past few weeks and I pray for you and your family. I know the Lord has all of you in the palm of his hand. I will keep praying for all to be healed in Jesus name!!!
Hey girlie…I am so sorry to hear about the barrage of “stuff” you guys have been dealing with. It can be overwhelming I am sure.
I am so excited to hear that through it all your faith is growing stronger and stronger…I can’t wait to find out about this book, Crazy Love…it sounds like it is RIGHT UP MY ALLEY!!!
I can’t wait for the day when we can all sit back, smile, and say “remember when” and it really is good on the other side.
Praying for y’all through it all!
Much Love,

Oh, Heather, I’m so sorry you all have been sick. I tell you, I tried to take that ibuprophen not too long ago, and I felt like it was really going to make me sick. So I asked the doctor if I could stop. I think this was after just one pill! Bless your heart. I sure hope you all will be well soon!

Sounds like a great book. I had a Bible teacher tell me one time that if Satan isn’t on my back, I’m not being an effective Christian. He only comes after those who are THREATS.
So take heart, Heather dear – you must be doing something right if you are being attacked!
I pray God ceases the enemy and your family is healed quickly. I pray that you are lifted up and encouraged – and that what was meant to harm you MAKES YOU STRONGER. I know it will.
Thanks for being such an inspiration. I know where to come when I need some life breathed in to me… your blog is such a blessing.
Love in Christ,
Heather
