thankful

Today, amidst the economic woes, the bailouts, the finger pointing, I want to list some things that I am very thankful for, instead of all of the negative things that are in my world today. I want to praise God, because of who He is and what He has done instead of blaming and shouting “God where are you?”. Today I want to bask in the undeniable security that I have in my Savior, and the steadfast knowledge that these circumstances have not and will not take Him by surprise.

He is still on His throne.

I want to stand in awe of His beautiful creation and just be.

  • I am thankful for the food on my table through out the day.
  • I am thankful for my children, and their precious (sometimes) smiling faces that greet me each morning.
  • I am thankful for my husband who works so very hard to provide for us.
  • I am thankful for my parents, and all of the support they bring to our family.
  • I am thankful for the birds outside my back porch, and the melody they have.
  • I am thankful that in the midst of chaos, my Savior holds my hand and my heart.
  • I am thankful that I have such wonderful and supportive friends, even though I sometimes drive them nuts.
  • I am thankful that I am still alive, and able to enjoy each day with minimum side effects from cancer.
  • I am thankful that Emma Grace is still here, and going strong.
  • I am thankful for my church family, and what they mean to our home.
  • I am thankful for a Savior who never gives up on me, even when I have given up on myself.
  • I am thankful that I have the security of knowing that no matter what…This ends well for me.
  • I am most thankful for today.. another breath, another joyous moment, another day of life that I don’t deserve.
  • What are you thankful for?

Beautiful post, Heather. We sure need those perspective adjustments in life, don’t we? There’s so much out there that can drag us down. But only when our eyes are on the circumstances, and not on the Lord. When we turn our view to Him, it’s all glorious. He offers nothing less. Thanks for sharing!

Blessings,
Dianne

How timely. I am really struggling with that this morning. But God is using bits and pieces of my day to bring me to focus on what’s really important:

I am thankful for…
1. My Savior and His unending love. Even when I was being unlovable.

2. My husband, who, without his knowledge, brings me closer to Christ.

3. My two wonderful boys.

4. My father and my siblings who are always very supportive and helpful.

5. Good health.

6. Our jobs – even when it gets stressful.

7. My women’s group. It is incredible the kind of support you can get from a group of godly women.

8. Divine appointments and divine connections.

9. Another day and another chance to do His will.

Thanks, Heather!

You are a blessing to the brethren in the Body of Christ, and a testament of His power!

I’m thankful this day, more, simply by having read a part of your testimony.

Your eternal brother, in Christ,
- Louis

This is just beautiful. I am thankful for some many things. God is just so good. Right now I am thankful that all the chocolate my dog ate didn’t make her toxic… Now to clean carpets ‘!’

Wow I must need to learn this lol My pastor preached on having our Fathers perspective Sunday

it is the one called Higher Hope:-) I guess I keep forgetting this because I get weary. I am a single Mom of 3 working 3 jobs till my child support starts back..thankfully two of the jobs don’t effect my kids. The last one is a couple of days a week and then I end up working 12-15 hrs days…after a couple of days of that I AM EXHAUSTED and I start losing that perspective. When I do I have to remind myself that this IS temporary and God has a plan and I have to focus on ALL of the blessings that have happened IN this. God really is in the details all the time:-)

There is SO much to be thankful for. I was thinking about this very thing this morning- tiny little things add up. And He totally knows how this will all end.
