So last night, when Mark came home from work, he offered to watch the kids so I could go have some “me” time. It had been a really rough day (3 fillings, Emma peeing all over the world. etc.) and by the look on my face, he just knew. So I loaded up my laptop and out the door I went.
I sat down with my Venti White Chocolate Mocha Latte and Lemon pound cake and paid my 3.99 for a two hour block of internet acces (did you guys know that Starbucks wifi isn’t free anymore? Just thought I would share that) put my feet up and just. relaxed.
Soon I found myself looking around the room. I have this thing with people watching. I watched the two hispanic ladies on the other side of the couch area laughing and speaking words that I could not understand. They had their shoes off and their feet up, just as comfortable as could be. I watched a mens bible study group open in prayer and pull out their bibles. There is nothing sweeter to a woman’s heart than a man that loves the Lord. I thought about their wives and children, what they were doing and where they were. I watched a young mom chase her 2 toddlers across the lounge, laughing and playing. I watched others around her have annoyed looks, but she didn’t seem to mind, she was too in love with her children to pay them any attention.
I thought about my day; my teeth that were sore and Emma’s new found peeing freedom. I thought about how frustrated I got with her and how innocently she looked up at me through that frustration. Its hard to stay frustrated when you have such an innocent child batting her big blue eyes.
I thought about life. I love my life. I love that I get to enjoy the simple frustrations of simply living day to day. I love the fact that I have a husband that is sensitive enough to come home from a long days work and see the expression on my face, step in and push me out the door. Most men wouldn’t do that, but I am glad I have a man that does. I love the fact that I have 3 amazingly beautiful children, even though they drive me crazy at times.
I love my life.
and Starbucks
P.S. Anyone know how to get these “linkwithin” avatars below my posts to change pictures? How long does it take!

“There is nothing sweeter to a woman’s heart than a man that loves the Lord.” I feel the same way.

Sweet Heather, your note today bought a smile to my face as I well remember those Roye kids driving me nuts at times, all the while knowing I was a very blessed woman regardless. You are so precious! I pray God will give you a really good day today. Those godly husbands are really encouragers at times.
Love you,
Louise

How wonderful that your husband is so sensitive to your needs! I am a people watcher as well. I get lost thinking about the lives others live as I watch them and am often urged to pray that this unknown person.

That is the best sentence ever – “I love that I get to enjoy the simple frustrations of simply living day to day.” How wonderful that you can see the joy in frustration! God is surely smiling at that one, Heather! I love it! I’m going to quote you on my blog. I am inspired, girl!

I love the life that the Lord has allowed me to live also. I love daughter age 12 but sometimes she is just alot to handle. I homeschool…we have not started for this year yet, and ya know, my hubs would do the same for me. He just knows me like that. I did not know Starbucks was not free anymore…how dare them….LOL
I do love your blog…I don’t think I have ever commented before…but have prayed for you and yours. It it so way cool that the Lord hand picked these men to be our husbands and know us so well…..blessings

I hate to comment twice, but I got to thinking about your PS. So here is my answer: email them. They responded quickly to my concerns and fixed the problem (different from yours – I had no pictures, just words) right away. Maybe they can fix yours, too.

I love your hubs. What a wonderful guy. Mine is kinda wonderful like that, too. And you can tell a lot about the world from people watching- even if you do have to pay for wifi! WHAT?@?@ Come on, starbucks- we’re paying $5 for coffee, you’d think they’d throw in the internet. Boo on them.
But yeah for your great ending to the day!

I am so glad that God has given your husband a sensitive spirit. There are so many women out there who would love to have the same. There is nothing like having a husband who loves us like Christ loves the church….it just does a heart good!
Glad you got some time away…God knew just what you needed.
He is faithful!
