well hello there!

I wish I could say that the much needed break was because of some unstoppable action that I couldn’t take a break from… But in all honesty, I just needed a break. I needed time to myself to just- be. I need a respite of sorts, and now I feel very rested, both physically and emotionally.

It has been a whirlwind of activity around here. Easton is playing with an actual band now. They are hoping to get in front of the judges for America’s Got Talent in Orlando, and I think they have a pretty good shot at it! They are really really good (and I am not just saying that because she is my daughter!) They haven’t settled on a name yet, but that is soon to come. Did I say they were really really good?! The drummer is 18, and a senior in highschool. The keyboardist is 16, and the lead singer (who btw has an AMAZING voice) is the same age as Easton (soon to be 13). Easton of course plays the Acoustic Guitar.

On the homeschooling front, we are officially through with the first half of the year. 9 Week exams were tough, especially for Easton in math and grammar, but all in all they both did well. I was biting my nails the entire week of exams!

Emma is doing fabulous. She got “Student of The Month” for January, so that was really really big! She makes us laugh on a continual basis, and is such a little ham in front of people.

That is about all that has been going on around here.. I have just been devouring the peace and quiet as much as a can when I can. The Lord has really been working on my heart, and at some point I will tell you how.. But for now all I can say is He is so very good to me even when I have not been that great to myself or others around me.

He is still good.

So whats been up with you?!

Welcome back! Glad to hear the Lord provided you the rest you needed. And it’s always good to hear of His goodness. He has certainly been amazing in our lives. I have so many things rolling through my head, I doubt I could form them into a coherent blog post.

How exciting for Easton! Looking forward to hearing how that goes.

Sometimes we just need a break, and when it’s spent getting in tighter with the Lord, then it’s so worthy it. It’s hard sometimes when He works no our hearts, but He always puts us back together better than we were before. So glad exams for your children went well. Oh and the band, WOW, I might see them some day on America’s Got Talent. Be blessed today!

Sometimes that “Be still and know that I am God” really means ‘be still.’ Good for you for answering His call so that He could lavish His love on you.

    Dear Heather,

I am so pleased that Easton is playing with a band. This is the best way to become an accomplished musician, and also get some positive feedback. As you have said, music is food for the soul, and we are never closer to God than when we sing His praises. Easton is a sweet, beautiful young lady, with a personality that is mature far beyond her 13 years. You and Mark are to be commended for raising three such wonderful children.

    Much love,
    Bob and Sweet Betty

Glad to hear that you are doing well and taking time to relax. I am back to blogging after taking my own sabbatical. It gets to the point where I cannot stand to hear about my cancer for one more minute, and I can’t imagine that anyone else would want to either. But, ultimately, I keep going because maybe somehow what I write will touch someone else, help someone else, cheer someone else who has cancer or who loves someone who has cancer. And that’s something way bigger than me.

Stay well and know that you are loved and prayed for.

  14. Hey there!! I see that you did another post-and-run. I hope everything’s okay!!
