thursday update…

I wish I could say the reason for the lack of updates was because Emma was doing so well, but that is not the case.  Yesterday was a really hard day full of total shock.  She was still having seizures throughout the day, so the neurologist came in and discussed with us  putting her in a medically induced coma to give her brain rest, so they did that last night.  We suspected, when she was awake, that she could not see because she would not track.  That was confirmed yesterday by the Neurologist who said she has cortical blindess caused by the swelling/seizures on both the left and right side of her occipital lobes.  We do not know how much of her sight she will regain.  She is vocal but will not respond to questions. When we asked the neurologist if this was permanent or could be recovered over time, and he said that we would know more once we get the seizures under control.  Her brain is “firing” like it is on “adhd with speed” so you cant base anything on what she is doing/saying now… we just have wait and see.

Right now we just need alot of prayer.  Both Mark and I are numb and trying to deal with how very different our lives are going to be.

  8. I was looking through my Bible for a scripture to share with you and as I perused Psalm 62, Shane & Shane came on Pandora singing . . . Psalm 62. I pulled the lyrics to the song to share with you here as well as audio of the song here. It’s a beautiful song and I pray that it’s an encouragement for you and Mark.
