What do we do?

I love this quote by Helen Keller: “Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experiences of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and success achieved.”

This video really resonated with me, because I have prayed for answers to so many things and yet God is silent. I have asked “Why” so many times, and yet he doesn’t answer.

Maybe he has and I am just not listening.. Maybe the answer is in His silence but I am so unwilling to face that because it is not the answer that I want.

And therein lies the problem.

I want.

Sometimes, it is in the silence of the answers that Christ speaks the loudest. Maybe, just maybe there is no answer, it is just what it is… His will.

And maybe we aren’t suppose to know the answers this side of heaven, because they are too difficult to process. Questions like why did I get cancer, or why is my daughter terminally ill?

Can I handle those answers?

So, instead of asking the questions the way that I continually ask them.. I am beginning to understand that it really has nothing to with me.

And everything to do with His will.

What have you asked for that God has remained silent to? How have you responded.

And are you really listening?

I feel so pretty!

Don’t ya just love it?! Thanks to Karen at Simply Amusing Designs my blog is all dressed up for the winter..although it looks like spring! I can’t praise Karen enough, really. She was SUPER easy to work with, reasonably priced and fast too! She took my not so focused design needs, and turned them into this masterpiece. In other words.. she worked magic! So if your blog needs a face lift, go now and check her designs out and if you hire her, tell her I sent you!

In other news.. I am sorry that I have been MIA this week. It has been a busy week for me. Mark was out of town for three days. I had to homeschool, go to my Neuro-Onc apptointment on Wednesday and Emma’s IEP was on Thursday. I was beat!

Emma’s IEP went beautifully. Luckily my mom went with me, which was a big help. She took notes so that I could focus on answering questions, etc. Emma’s teacher is just lovely, and she feels the same way about Emma. Her Speech therapist said that she has improved so much with her speech, but now we need to work on “compliance”… Her Occupational therapist said that she is doing beautifully, again we just need to work on “compliance”- which means Emma can do it, she just chooses not too! All in all, it was a great meeting, full of lots of information and suggestions.

My Neuro-Onc appointment went beautifully. My friend Michelle came with me, and we had a great time! Dr. Chowdhary said my MRI looked great, and sent us on our way! Those are the kinds of visits I love!

So all in all, it has been a hectic yet encouraging week here, and I promise not to disapear like that again!
