I just had to share..

Easton, Michelle and I were walking in the local mall on Saturday. I stop at the wig store (yes, we have a wig store in our mall, go figure!) and began looking at wigs. Easton picks one out and says “This looks so much like your natural hair and cut, mom!” I was wearing my old wig because I am growing out (ever so slowly) my hair. She often comments that the wig just doesnt look like “me”. It is too dark and has absolutely no highlights. The cut is okay, but she is right.. It didn’t look like me.

I put it on, and she smiles ear to ear.

I had told the sales woman before that I was just looking and if I found a wig that I couldnt live without, I would be back on Monday with my Check Card.

Guess what my daughter did..

She used her own Christmas money and bought it for me! She knew that I was getting pretty insecure growing my hair out, and wanted me to feel like my old self again in the process..

That, more than the wig, brought tears to my eyes.

I will cherish that exchange for the rest of my life…

“A daughter is the happy memories of the past,
the joyful moments of the present,
and the hope and promise of the future.”
